The first car/truck you ever owned?

Maybe the only Volks I did not care for. Sis had one and when she turned on her instrument panel lights she got all giddy the red lights on the tac and orange lights on the radio made her feel benzy I tell ya. It did light up like a lear jets cabin.

My first ride was a 1969 Cadillac fleetwood brougham complete with gas gulping 476 cu in motor and 8 track player

The reason I bought the car was the lovely woman who was the floor model showing off the car.......I said if she would go out with me I would by the car to go out in (I was going to by the car regardless).

She said yes.....we got married a month later and are still together. I think there is a God myself

Mitsubishi Monarch - grey - with burgundy interior - back in 1985 - that thing was indestructible - nice ride. Sort of a souped up version of the Ford Granada.

It was the best car I owned.

It had a 318 in it when I bought it, swapped it for a 340. A real gas hog, but back then gas was dirt cheap.

Drove it for a few years and sold it.

78 Monte Carlo took the 305 out and put a 350 4 barrel in. The motor mounts didnt line up so we welded it to the frame. put in a posi tracktion, It could beat any camero or trans am around, fastest car in high school.

First car I owned (used car) was a two door yellow 79 Dodge Omni which I bought in 84 to get to college and back. In 87, someone rear ended me and totaled it so I bought a brand new 1988 Dodge Daytona. I still have the Daytona today and still drive it on occasion. It's a weekend car now.

LOL ya there was a lot of metal in that car. I think back I bet I put 70,00 miles on that car and it had about 70,000 on it when I got it. I never really measured the gas mileage but with that 232 six I think I got close to 20 MPG.
I don't recall doing any real big maintenance items to it just oil/gas and changed points/plugs a few times. I miss those days!

Dodge sold a lot of those cars because of the "Daytona" Logo. Best engine to transmission seal imo.

The car I drove to high school late 70's early 80's was my parents red 1972 Gran Torino sport with a 351 Cleveland in it. Had reflective orange strips down the side. OMG that thing could move.

'49 Pontiac (with suicide doors)....paid $75 for it

'51 Dodge with power glide trans. ....paid $55

'56 GMC pickup

'64 Chevy Impala w/ 427 (6 miles to a gallon at $.20 a gallon)

It still runs like a champ (5 speed). I still can catch a wheel with it when I pop the clutch and even between 1st and 2nd gear. Not too bad for a little 2.5 liter. (I am female btw).

Tan beige interior. I sold it to join the US Air Force. Saved my money and when I got out bought a 1985 Monte Carlo SS. Absolute mint condition. Only has 63,000 original miles I am married with three kids and I still wont let my kids sit in the back seat. Priceless. My daughter is 13 and when she turns 16 what a sweet sixteen birthday present.

I had an '65 Austin Healey Sprite. I put an MGB engine and trans in it. I had the driveshaft cut to 22" and file the top of one of the carbs to make it all fit. I could chirp the tires in all 4 gears!

A marvel that power glide!! Todays CVT transmission.

My very first car was a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am...I was 15, just had gotten my learners permit..this was in 2000.

Then in 2002 I got a 1997 Chevy Cavalier....and haven't owned anything but a Chevy since ;) I had that Cavalier for years. Then after 2 kids got a Blazer...when my 3rd was born in 2011 I got a Trailblazer...and now this year, just about a month ago I got a Tahoe. Yes, its a big vehicle, and yes uses a lot of gas, but we don't travel very far (work is close for both me and hubby), so it works. Plus, with 3 kids I need that extra room.

The Cavalier is a no shit start right the fuck up kind of car. Top 10 commuter car for the buck.
