'61 Dodge 1/2 ton, with the slant six. Next was a new 1972 Charger! I loved that car, but people just couldn't seem to drive around it. It got hit all the time! I never parked in lots at school, but when I drove it, people aimed for it.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Bought a 1942 ex-USAF Willys MB from a scrap yard for £25 in 1964. Fitted a new battery and clutch, and I ran it for a year without problems before selling it for £75 when I was posted overseas to Borneo. Bought a Rolls Royce engined Austin "Champ" when I came home, which was a much superior vehicle, but never forgot the old Willys Jeep that I cut my motoring teeth on. Still into 4x4s even now, fifty years later.

77 Datsun pick-up truck a true mechanical wonder as I never changed the oil or plugs in the 2 glorious years I owned her. What did pops hand you all down? Did it get you to point A and B? Did it kill your wallet or better yet? Do you still fucking have it?

Remember how cheap the later 60's muscle cars were in the 70s and even early 80's? The ones i did buy got totaled quickly. I remember a few that even today i am glad i didnt buy. I wouldnt be here and I know it.

Re: The first car/truck you ever owned?
2000 Accord Coupe 4 cyl. Got it in 2003 with 23k on it, now it is approaching 89k. The only problem I've had with it was the O2 sensor going out, which was kind of a bitch. Otherwise, still great, except I'm starting to get rattling noises from the interior plastic paneling sometimes. =P The smog check guy told me it runs cleaner than new cars, and that I must get regular oil changes. I do, & use STP fuel injection cleaner every few k (which I'm not sure really does anything, but still use anyway, just in case). I'll keep it 'til it dies.

1970 GTX 440 3/4 CAM

[link to www.google.com (secure)]
 Quoting: The Black_Man 42713041

Too bad it didn't have a whole cam :(
 Quoting: BRIEF

What's a 3/4 Race Cam?

In the early 1950's the most popular original camshaft designers were the legendary Ed Winfield, the father of hotrodding, and Cliff Collins of Harman-Collins. If you look a Huntington's 1951 book you will find the specs for their cams listed. We've also listed some of their cams on our Flathead Performance Cams page. There were lots of cam grinders that copied Winfield and Harman-Collins cams, but these two were the designers and innovators in the early days. It was popular to refer to cams as a 1/2 Race or Semi grind and a Full Race grind. Later, there was a call for an intermediate grind between these two. To fill this demand, Ed Winfield took the intake lobe from his full race cam and the exhaust lobe from his semi cam and called it a 3/4 Race cam (see Flathead Performance Cams). It was literally half way between a full race and 1/2 race cam. Since that time, 3/4 Race has become a generic term for a high performance street cam, i.e. something less than a race cam.

1972 Mustang Mach 1 Convertible

Red with white top

In 1980 I was 16 and begging for a car, found an ad in the local paper, a sweet, little old lady was selling it.

Original owner, about 2000 miles and I got it for $1500.00, she drove to store and church, it was a gorgeous car.

Couple years later it was stolen from in front of my house and used for a murder in Detroit....wish I still had it....
