The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Louisiana and
southern Mississippi... including the following areas. In
southeast Louisiana... East Feliciana... Livingston... lower
Jefferson... lower Plaquemines... lower St. Bernard... northern
Tangipahoa... Orleans... southern Tangipahoa... St. Helena... St.
Tammany... upper Jefferson... upper Plaquemines... upper St.
Bernard... Washington and West Feliciana. In southern
Mississippi... Amite... Hancock... Harrison... Jackson... Pearl
River... Pike... Walthall and Wilkinson.

* Through Saturday morning

* widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact
southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi tonight. Rainfall
totals are generally expected to be less than an inch... but
local amounts of 2 to 3 inches will be possible. Heavy rainfall
last night and today has saturated the soil across the watch
area. Any additional heavy rainfall will quickly be converted to
runoff... leading to a risk of flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

It's nice to have a weathertard thread with you guys again Not much to be reported in from Russia, we're back to winter here :( Except maybe 20 m/s winds, that broke off some trees nearby. Let's hope those contrasts will lead to huge summer storms with tons of tornadoes here. I long to see them again!

Yes! you could give it a try. You would have to be dedicated to keep the thread updated and going but there are lots of us that could contribute.
