The obama is to intelligently challenged to create a sophisticated basket of symbolism. It is more likely that it really was a garden starter basket. If they wanted to tell someone about the sun they would just call them up or send a skilled team to explain it. The Vatican has it's own scientific experts that are fully versed on the sun and solar flares. Nice story though.
