My sister has this same affliction.

Is yours vasovagal in nature, may I ask?

She has gotten "used to it", if you can call it that, over the years, and she is still pretty young.

She has never glowed, to my knowledge.

She does know when she is going to go out now, though. It is usually triggered by low blood sugar (skipped breakfast), standing too long in one position, or having a couple of cocktails/glasses of wine the night before (which, I think, screws with her blood sugar).

I know that scientists have made animals "glow" by injecting them with jellyfish DNA, but they always glow in the dark. (Not saying your doctors were playing a joke on you at the ER...lol.)

Maybe you did almost "step out" of your body, and your wife was able to see it.

Thanks for the response...the dr. have been pretty much useless far as trying to diagnose and fix so I don't know much about it. Scary though, I fight with everything I have to keep from passing, one day I fear I will not be strong enough. Time to write up my will I guess.

What, I have no idea.

It really doesn't seem impossible. There are people who insist the can see auras emanating from people, and other living organisms.

That said, maybe you should see if there are any research institutes nearby that are doing studies which your 'glow' might fall under, or, at least have the equipment to 'read' you.

As interesting as this sounds, I really do hope the cause of these episodes are figured out, so they can find a way to alleviate or stop them.

Maybe you had a deathly pallor due to the lack of blood near the skin.

"phosphorescence"

green? blue? yellow? white? purple?

glowing like in countenance "like a pregnant woman" for example or glowing with light.

Is your skin aglow or an aura around you?

Ok, here's the rub...

First of all, know that this will NOT kill you.

Yes, the episodes are scary as hell, and they can make your chest/heart badly ache, and you are probably exhausted for a whole day or two after these episodes, right?

Like, completely wiped out, correct?

And you are probably afraid to drive now, or to go places, because an episode might hit you anywhere, right?

First of all, you have to head off the coming agoraphobia before it takes root.

I can almost guarantee that you have at LEAST 45-60 seconds when you start to feel slightly strange before you have an all-out fainting spree.

That is plenty of time to pull your car over and put it in park and that is plenty of time to safely sit down and PUT YOUR FEET UP, even if that means doing it in a grocery aisle, so you don't compound the problem by smashing your face on the floor.

Again, this is NOT GOING TO KILL YOU.

There is no "cure" for this disorder, at least not in the mainstream medicine books.

My sister is just now starting off on an alternative treatment. It combines Vitamin D with to forms of Vitamin K2.

You can get liquid D3 at the Vitamin Shoppe, or just about any health place, in 2,000iu doses. She is taking 10,000 iu's of D3 a day in a glass of juice along with the K2. This is the K2 she is taking ( [link to www.lef.org]

The K2 above is the ratio that some actual MD's are recommending.

She has only been on it for about 2 weeks, but she hasn't had a single episode yet, and she says she just feels more energetic all around.

On the upside, it is totally non-toxic and it can't hurt you, unless you are on the blood thinner Warfarin. THEN you can still take it, but you have to be monitored by your doc.

Oh, and drink a LOT of water each day. It helps to regulate your BP. If you get dehydrated, you are going to pass out, guaranteed.


It is still early, of course, but so far, so good, for her.

Oh, I almost forgot...

When you are taking K2, you have to avoid eating any trans-fats.

Trans-fats DESTROY the K2 you are trying to get into your bloodstream.

Hence, you might as well not take it on trans-fats days.

Without a photo of your glowing ability I would diagnose it as low I.Q.
