Also good to allow you to be mobile. 2. Portable water filtration system - So you can keep a move on while also making it easier to not be sick. 3. Good lightweight tarp - Make a good tent from it, able to block off a cave opening, etc... You can have many uses from this. 4. Hatchet/Axe/Machete/Folding Saw - Good for making camp wood. Also not bad when used to defend yourself. 5. Bow string - Make a bow from it along with being usable as a fishing line in a dire pinch to being able to make a fire bow with it. 6. 550 Paracord - Many uses. More than I could list here. 7. Good multi-tool - Something that isn't some cheap Wal-Mart Chinaware. (I have a Leatherman Mut with the bit set and the extra bit as something I carry everyday.) 8. A sleeping bag bivvy with either a down feather insulated sleeping bag (If you are in colder weather) or a warm weather 3 season sleeping bag (Warmer climates.) Almost required to go together. 9. Lockpicks - Help me get into shelters for the night through covert means (If I don't break down a door or bust a window to scavenge, then I can leave no trace.) 10. Will the state guards be brought in to run the sewer and water treatment plants? when not if the banks fail, You wake up with your online bank website down and you find that your debit card doesn't work and the local store shelves are empty from the riots. These are my top 10 Items / ideas to have to survive the GREATEST DEPRESSION. Food will be one of the most important things in this SHTF scenario Top 10 items to have or ideas 1.Gold or silver / coins 2.Cash before the dollar collapses some rural places might still accept this. 3.moving in with other families to save money and survive.Rural farms will be the best. 4.Shotgun 28" Barrel , this in one of the best survival weapons it can be used for protection / hunting large game with a slug to small birds. 5. A goat- 1 will produce plenty of milk for a family and is a lot healthier than cows milk 6. chickens- a dozen chickens could feed a family daily with about 1 egg per chicken a day, and an egg provides all 8 essential amino acids. 7.Rabbits -take up little space and produce more meat per pound of feed than a calf or hog. Rabbit meat is also higher in protein and lower in cholesterol than skinless/boneless chicken breast. Another rabbit advantage is you can breed and slaughter them as needed as apposed to being stuck with 200 to 500 pounds of meat at one time to have to try to preserve. 8.AXE for chopping down wood for heat and cooking -No people at the electric plants so you probably wont have electricity log 9. wood stove to cook and stay warm 10. fishing pole, learn to fish , fish are great tasting and really high in protein easy to cook and catch. Now its your turn, post the Scenario and top 10 list. Stay Safe ;) As for number 7... ever heard of rabbit starvation? They do produce a lot of meat per feed needed but if you eat nothing but rabbit meat without another source of high fat you will die. |
