NC Military Activity: Training Exercises - "Don't be alarmed...."
I have always been on the look out when it comes to military activity around my area. Over the past couple of weeks but especially this past weekend the activity has really picked up. Everything from helicopters to huge aircraft flying all around. I have also seen military vehicles running around town.

I finally heard a blip on the news and after I heard that I went to the news website to only read this:

"Over the next few days, you could hear or see gunfire, explosions and low-flying aircraft near your homes."

wtf

Robin Sage is the name of the exercise.
This group is comprised of the: 1st Special Warfare Training Group (1SWTG). This group is identified as specialist in Tactical Guerrilla Warfare.

Phase I
They are teaching them how to deal with basic small-unit tactics, sabotage operations, employment of homemade explosives, etc.

Phase II:
Launguage

Phase III:
Tactical Combat Skills

Phase IV:
Military occupational specialty, or MOS

We are being told this is common knowledge etc around here but not a single one of my neighbors know anything about this at all. I have been here for about 14 years and this is the first I have ever heard of it. We have already seen military vehicles driving around town.

We are all pretty confused about what to do around here now. Are we supposed to stop if they construct a check point or something? I think it is pretty fucked up myself.

What is real and what is not?
Is this conditioning of some sort?
If they are going to inject themselves into the local community do you not think they would at least put some fliers in a mailbox? Plaster the shit all over TV, radio etc?
Why is is lasting 11 days?
WTF am I supposed to do if they start blowing shit up on my property or have some sort of exercise that runs across my property?

Not one single land owner around me has been made aware of this situation at all. Here in the Guilford/Randolf County area people are totally clueless about what is going to go down.

I really figured our local Sheriffs office would of least told us something but after speaking to a local deputy this afternoon he told me he had no idea what the hell was going on. Nobody knows anything other than what was said on the Fox8 link I supplied above.

After doing some more research I read that participants are supposed to be identifiable with certain clothing. I go look for the identifiable clothing online and nothing.

So my question is how the hell are we supposed to know who is participating and who is not? How are we supposed to know who the hell we actually have to pay attention to and who we don't? This is just mind boggling to me that no information at all has been released to the public. This is frustrating beyond belief to me! rant

bump Well, that explains the low flying plane I saw earlier this evening. Thanks for the heads up! First I have heard of and agree with you... would be nice if we were made aware!!!

"A lawsuit filed by the family of a soldier killed by a deputy sheriff during a Green Beret training exercise says officials should have warned deputies about the training."

"other mishaps have occurred -- soldiers broke into the wrong house Oct. 29 and pointed rifles at an elderly couple in Montgomery County."
