Police not responsible to protect your safety? WTF is their job, exactly, then?
"Police have no legal duty to respond and prevent crime or protect the victim. There have BEEN OVER 10 various supreme and state court cases the individual has never won. Notably, the Supreme Court STATED about the responsibility of police for the security of your family and loved ones is "You, and only you, are responsible for your security and the security of your family and loved ones. That was the essence of a U.S. Supreme Court decision in the early 1980's when they ruled that the police do not have a duty to protect you as an individual, but to protect society as a whole."

"On June 27, in the case of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, the Supreme Court found that Jessica Gonzales did not have a constitutional right to individual police protection even in the presence of a restraining order."

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

"The court stated that official police personnel and the government employing them owe no duty to victims of criminal acts and thus are not liable for a failure to provide adequate police protection unless a special relationship exists."

I mean, I understand their sole duty is not to protect people....but...do I?
Their original title was Peace Officer, no?

I don't understand how protecting those who call 911 from violent crimes in progress is not part of their job.

Yet people argue that we dont need guns!

Obviously we do, considering we can't rely on Big Brother to protect us, like most people erroneously believe.

It would appear that a growing number of them see their role as protector of the state and status quo.

There are still a lot of good cops out there -- still a majority, at least in my area... but we have gone from the post Vietnam era of asshole 'nam vets' who became cops to the current 'professional' (educated) cops that see the average Joe and Joan as the problem.

There is no 'police' any longer ..... there is only the Gastepo

I type it like that as:
"Gestapo" means the "secret" police.
"Gastepo" would be not secret, which ours clearly are, in-your-face blunt "fuck you, we do as we please".

And yes, I pulled the spelling and its definition right out of my hippy ass!! lol

I agree. I know that generally, in my experience, police still do see it as their responsiblity to protect the citizens, to some degree. But the fact that they don't HAVE TO is really concerning to me. And should be to everyone.

I guess I can't say, I'm not an expert on the subject, but I do know that the majority of people assume that the police are there to PROTECT and serve as someone so succinctly stated above.

With this knowledge I understand it as EVERY citizens RESPONSIBILITY to be armed, in order to properly be able to protect ourselves as it is all on us. Which is fine, but is something that people should all understand and not be lied to about, and be told that guns are bad and unnecessary.

I will be really simple and concise as possible in such a complex and disinformed issue.

if you use the title (mr/mrs/dr/etc) you agree to have the benefits of it with attached responsibilities, these responsibilities include the rules or acts of the corporation (laws) that is dominant in your country such as "united states of america" and " united kingdom ". Both of these are companies (not land masses) you work for when you operate using your title.. they use police officers to collect the fines for ignoring your responsibilities.

Look at the word Police.
Look at the word Policy.

Notice anything odd?

Corporations have Corporate Policy.
Police enforce Policy.

Notice anything odd?

UNITED STATES is a Corporation for profit, like WalMart.
Cops are independent, militarized contractors working for a Corporation.

Notice anything odd?

Their duty and obligation is to protect the state's interest by aggressively increasing state revenue through taxation (tickets/citations)of drug related allegations or crimes and travelers on the highways and byways.
