Actually none of us have any clue of the big picture we are subjectively a part of. Much like consciousness develops, so does our understanding of hte universe this life is a part of.

Religion as a organization has its flaws, but the message is there. Of course it needs some tweaking, and extremists need to calm down before we make any more progress, but the belief in "god" ranges far and wide. Making the grand claim one is true or false is ignorant.

Not to mention, for any "thing" to work it must have a way of working. Why is it so difficult to think we adapt or "evolve" in an intelligent, prosperous way?
