Whoops! Half of Georgia’s Insurance Enrollees Haven’t Paid Yet
Georgia insurers received more than 220,000 applications for health coverage in the Affordable Care Act’s exchange as of the official federal deadline of March 31, state officials said Wednesday.

Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, though, said premiums have been received for only 107,581 of those policies, which cover 149,465 people.

“Many Georgians completed the application process by the deadline, but have yet to pay for the coverage,” Hudgens said in a statement Wednesday.

The analysis notes, “In the 2012 election, President Obama won all of our “broken” exchange states. That perhaps explains the rosier view voters in those states have of the law, even though the exchanges in many cases barely worked.” In other words, there’s a strong possibility some Obama voters declared their state health insurance exchanges to be success even when they personally experienced its failure.

What do you mean it only covers 70%?

What do you mean the deductible is $4500?

I thought it was $120 per month?

Yes that is accurate... I live in Georgia, and my Girlfriend is one of those 220,000!

She actually HAS health insurance through her employer, but it doe not cover Dental.

We can not afford the regular cost of a major dental visit; and she is in dire need of such because she has started to develop a serious problem with her wisdom teeth that were never removed...

Unfortunately, we did not learn until AFTER she had signed up on Healthcare.gov and gotten her application accepted, approved, etc etc etc... that the Dental Plans available on the "marketplace" are not available as stand alone plans.

We called a number of places, dentists who offered plans there, the marketplace itself, and we were told repeatedly that she could not get Dental through the Affordable Care Act, that she had to select a Healthcare Plan to go with the Dental Plan...

But she already has Healthcare through her employer...

So, she is signed up and approved for a plan through healthcare.gov... application accepted, etc etc etc...

But because they won't let her have a stand alone Dental Plan, she has not selected any plans at all, and not paid anything...

So now she is counted amongst the 220,000 who have not paid; all of whom are also counted amongst Obummer's 7 Million whom he claims "have insurance through healthcare.gov"!

I should also add... that my personal Kaiser Healthcare plan that I have had for nearly 20 years, went from $125 a month on premium, up to $250 a month; and my co-pays have doubled as well... it went up in February, and then again in March...

Thanks Obummer..

my 2 boys turned 18, and i switched them over to my (cadillac) policy from the one i had for them as kids as i was notified by that carrier of the nu-oscam rates.

they stuck my boys in the AHC/0-scam. i never was on that site.

i walked my ass down to highmark BS and said i wasnt leaving til i saw a rep, i told them i wasnt moving & id even order a pizza to bide my time til they saw me.

fuck that shit. they dont get to just dump my kids off on a plan i didnt auth.

theyre on my plan now. it was just some "mistake".....right, rub a lamp.

Even not paying doesn't mean you aren't covered

According to the ACA rules the insurance companies must keep you enrolled for 30 days past your payment due date and hospitals and doctors must treat you even if your payments are up to than 60 days past due.

So I bet there will be a good number of people who will play this loophole as long as they can.

End of this year I'm done with health insurance, I'm going to incorporate all of my holdings, and self insure...

That way if something catastrophic happens and I have to have an extended hospital stay I can just tell them to fuck off, because none of my assets will be in my personal name.

My HSA policy that was grandfathered in has gone up over 40% in less than a year, and over 100% since I purchased the plan, and I expect another increase this fall, fuck it. I'll take that money and put it in a money market account and when I get a few grand built up I'll go buy some gold or silver with it.

Fuckin' Obamacare has ruined the health insurance industry!!!

I keep asking my people who favor "subsidies" who they think will pay for those subsidies. They say "the federal government," and then I ask who funds the federal government and they say "the rich."

They make no connection between themselves as taxpayers and rich taxpayers. I have no idea where they think their tax dollars are going...

Simply incorporating will not protect you in a catastrophic situation.

I was in medical practice management consulting in the '80's virtually all the high risk specialty physicians and many who are not have all their assets in offshore asset protection trusts. So if they get some wild ass malpractice judgement against them, none of their assets can be touched and no federal judge can force an offshore trustee to pay shit. So their homes, cars, savings, and anything else valuable is held by the trust and is untouchable. I see now that everyone with any substantial assets at all needs an offshore trust or the doctors and hospitals will end up with all their assets and there will be shit for nothing left for the family.

Also if you need treatment that is not covered, you can fly to several places in the world, get a vacation and the work done and still save money. The healthcare system in the states is screwed.. and zerocare did nothing but make it worse.

Check out the cost of a CT of the head and neck with contrast in the states.. I don't have a clue how much but I got it done in a brand new clinic in Eastern Europe on a brand new Toshiba 24 CT machine.. with interpretation, a copy of the actual film, and the data on a CD for a grand total of $65.

I was unlucky enough to get four teeth broken while coaching my son's baseball team. I was the smart guy standing behind home plate at practice calling strikes with no head gear on. Oh, if the pitch is wild I will just move, I'm the coach and I'm grown. PLAY BALL!! Never thought about what a foul tipped ball would do.

Any way I had to go see a dentist. I went and the first thing I was told was it is going to cost a ton, they ask did I have dental and I replied "No, I will be paying cash" Once I was back and talking to the dentist I was told, "I'm sorry you were hit but I am so happy to see someone paying cash, I may get paid for todays work and we will help you out". I had all four teeth worked on and fixed and I was only charged $425.00 Cash. I was told if I would have had insurance it would have been close to $2700.00. Now tell me that isn't screwed up.

They offer a hardship exemption so if you claim you can't afford it you can opt out.

If you truly can't afford it you will recieve healthcare (medicare) at no cost to you directly but will jack up the price of everything else you buy and the remainder shifted to all taxpayers.

By taxpayers I mean the 40% (or less now) of working people who pay 100% of the taxes
