China is known for yellow sand dust storms, this is unprecedented . Someone paste a historical link of a red dust storm in the past, I dare you.

In Korea the sands blowing over from the Gobi was seasonal

Now its year round, and made worse by pollution coming from cars, factories..

Reminded me of those red waters in The Netherlands earlier this year…

In that thread, there was somewhere a video about a theory that these "red" incidents could be from meteor dust… would make sense to what we are seeing in this Chinese video:

There is no mystery about this at all, it's been happening regularly in China for many years. It always happens around the spring, because that is when the farmers dig up all that dry powdery Chinese soil to plant their crops. There are a BILLION Chinese; where do you think the food comes from -- the food fairy? No, you have hundreds of millions of peasants scratching away in their dirt farms, and all that dust gets kicked up into the atmosphere. Sometimes the Chinese spring dirt-cloud even reaches over to Japan; I can think of maybe 5 years in the last 20 when Japan was hit by a Chinese dirt storm. Hasnt hit Japan in a while though, come to think of it.

If it was sandstorm, they would not be walking around, driving, because sandstorm would just blow full eyes of sand, screw up cars!

We had a similar event in the UK the other week and as shitty as some areas are here, there sure ain't no deserts near by that I know of.

It was in fact lifted from the Sahara 2000 miles away by African storms.

That was unusual for us but I am willing to bet is not all that unusual for China..
