The air this year hasn't felt right period. The whole season isn't coming together the way it should. A lot of farmers around here have been talking about it. I really hope it turns around soon because the country can't take violent weather and a bad growing season.

North Alabama here. The only actual warning we have and not a watch is for Flash Flooding and says once the rain starts, couple of hours it appears, we can get up to 5 inches before it stops.

This will be in addition to any severe storms. We are still a bit punchy from the storms of 2011 that killed 249 in this state alone in one day.

Be safe, all!

yeah, and I know where it is coming from ... today is the second time this week, we had a freak storm in CO that the WC wasn't even aware of -even WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING .... WTF?

Tuesday I got hit by 70MPH wind "gusts" and it dumped two inches of snow on me ... was 75 the day before and 62 after - these kinds of extremes really get rolling across the plains and generate some wicked storms in TX OK KS NB - that slam into the GL states, the E Coast and really do their worst across the southern state ... you prob don't get snow, but tornadoes instead ... I appreciate all the moisture I can get ... its been dry as a bone here - if it wasn't for the snow, our grass still wouldn't be green (most of it isn't ... back down to the fifties after an entire week in the 70s ... looks like we have another two weeks of ski season - maybe longer than that after today LOL

Heads up flatlanders it's headed your way

How bad in missouri? My wife wants me to call in today from work cause of how bad she thinks it is going to be.. after reading your comment TDP on friends in missouri, what do you feel is going to happen today in the southeastern portion of MO?

CG is literally on the edge of there the worst is going to happen today. It seems damaging winds and large hail are going to be the main threats, but taking everything into consideration here, I would definitely be concerned. If she feels she should call off and won't get punished for it, by all means let her do so. If she does decide to go in, she needs to have some news source (Radio/TV) nearby and turned up on a day like this...

This is crazy, the entire state of Arkansas has significant risk today! I live in a very rural area, so my power gets knocked out from the slightest bit of wind. I do have a couple of portable weather warning radios, hopefully that will be good enough. I won't be able to get to your weather sites :(

Hope it won't be as bad as they're saying.

Though I am well north of all this, I know the feeling your are experiencing. Last year, November 17th, all hell busted loose in Illinois and Indiana. I was on edge all day. I'm on edge today too because I've got friends in Missouri who are going to be in this mess...

Feels weird in mid-eastern MO, can tell its “brewing” so to speak. The entire states of MO and AR are in the red zone. I suspect we’ll be having quality basement time very soon.
Thanks for the thread OP.
