I heard it takes a genius to be able to entertain two contradictory ideas simultaneously without going insane.

If the shoe fits... the only thing that makes this reality appear physical, is that we experience the final product of information processing which is rendering the experience.

Most are unaware of the fact that in the background, there is other layers of information being calculated and factored in building out via many processes what is required to simulate and render reality.

Although my thread discusses simulation theory and virtual reality it does put emphasis on the nature of what programs and creates the information which produces the final product. That final product being a rendering, or simulation we call reality.

What programs it, is an awareness that uses thought more importantly, non-verbal thought which we observe and use to create dreams. It is this quality of thought, the kind that can produce a virtual dream world which is at work in organizing the information required to simulate physical reality.

We live right now in a literal "dream". One that lasts a lifetime. The Universe itself is a by-product of a very evolved system of dreaming which is taking place within our collective unconscious.

There is another reality which is propping up this simulation, that acts like a super-computer doing all the heavy information processing on data interactions and spins out a datastream composed on non-verbal thought which each of us, as little nodes within this larger mainframe of awareness, are rendering for the sake of experience.

Simulation theory will look for that computer, but to better understand it we need to see the role that awareness and thought plays in rolling out dreams that last a lifetime.

I don't believe that existing in a simulated dream-world equals non-reality. If anything, it is what produces realism and reality so that we have context and experience in what otherwise would be a static void.

When you are in a dream, what makes it physical or appear physical? It is the way in which you render that dream, and simulate a physics engine and rule-set to define the laws such as gravity, or bend those laws and fly or enter no-clipping mode and pass through walls.

Never underestimate your power to dream, and doubt that such a power cannot produce a reality as chronological or coherent as this one because I'll tell you straight up front... they can, they do and they are doing so right now.

You keep saying, "it." What is "it"? Everything that happens is part of reality, even if it seems strange.

The problem is what happens before you die

And what happens makes no sense at all
