Chinese takeouts

Anyone have this happen to them?

We like to order out on Sundays ..... Who wants to cook and do dishes....

We alternate between restUrants in this small town. One Sunday ordered Chinese. Now, when we order we order a lot and leave a nice tip. I noticed no matter what is ordered it is always either $27 or $49 ...even...

So after I call in the order and am told $49 I remembered there might be something wrong here. Slowly and calmly (why is it the person who takes the orders doesn't speak English) I asked about each item, each charge, etc

All of a sudden I hear yelling on the phone so I just say.....oh, never mind, cancel the order....

Thought nothing of it. Decided I will just run down to subway for a sandwich instead. My phone rings, I answer, I'm calmly talking to my daughter.

Out of the clear blue I see 2 cops coming up the steps to my porch. They tell me the Chinese restaurant called them saying I threatened them! I kept telling them in total amazement......are you serious? Is this a joke? I was just trying to order dinner.....

I suppose the cops saw my honesty and surprise and just said there must be a communication confusion. I said confused about egg rolls and general tso? Did anyone ever tell them it was against the law to give false info to police?

I was so shaken about the incident. I eventually did go to subway. Still shaking as I got my order and explained what happened. Everyone there asked which Chinese restaurant....didn't think about it then but turned around and realized it was the one across the street.

Soon after the place closed down.

Look, I'm over 60, almost invalid, just hate cooking, and this happens.

Boycott Chinese restaurants.
