Once it finds the words it creates a graph charting their usage. I wasn't terribly surprised to see the steep decline for words such as justice, and liberty, integrity, prayer, God, nature, wisdom, love etc. Quoting: nowyouseeme 57299698 here are a few links [link to books.google.com (secure)] [link to books.google.com (secure)] Then you can try a few such as cookies, sex, kill, hate, anger, masturbate, feeling, food, dollar, prostitute. I'm not a Christian, but that sure looks like depravity to me. I think regardless of our faith, our minds have over the years become attached to our comforts and pleasures and lost sight of whats really important. The Founding Father's realized the outcome of this mentality and wrote much about it. Too bad they don't teach any of that in skoohl. over the past 20 years, while the "bad words" have been on an incline, there has also been a resurgence in the words god and religion and jesus and words of the like. its no coincidence. religion fuels our hatred of each other. its a direct correlation |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 57299698 You'd expect that in a Science based culture. ------ The problem is that without those elements, even a science based culture is doomed to fail. Without awareness of the metaphysical aspect of our being, man finds nothing worth striving for other than things, toys, pleasure, etc. |

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water though. Religion is a powerful tool for controlling the masses, personal spirituality however, recognizing natural law through our own metaphysical existence is key to a spiritually mature human race, and to a fulfilling life. |
