Is Hyping up the effects of an EMP military strategy?
Some people have brought up this concept and I think it's pretty interesting. I wanted to start a new thread on it so as not to hijack or take away from the original thread.

We always hear media outlets, politicians, and military leadership saying how vulnerable we are to E.M.P. attacks and how we'd be crippled, etc. etc.
Is it possible that for the most part, we're protected against it? I understand that in no way will we be 100% protected but protected enough that any attacking government and military will get a major mind effing.

It just makes no sense to me why military and government would spread information about how weak an E.M.P. would make us.

I know I wouldn't run around telling people that I was bad at blocking on my right side if I thought the info could be used against me. Now I might spread that rumor if I was in fact amazing on the right side and wanted others to try to exploit my weakness when it is in fact a strength of mine.

We all know that we have military weapons and defenses that have not been made public. Is it too much to think that we're actually doing an Ali and pulling a rope-a-dope?

Or...

Am I giving them too much credit and they really do just broadcast our weaknesses?

Wide scale loss of power services was the plan. If no one had sounded the alarm it would have happened already.

Loss of power would be a highly effective tool to destabilize a nation and cause massive non military casualties.

I saw a report a couple days ago about allot of booming in the SE U.S. Don't remember where? KY maybe?

One of the women in the news report said there was a loud explosion and the power flickered and went out.
"Just standard military training" says the news.

Last I knew standard artillery training does not knock out power to civilian populations.

Grid Down is they're current favorite scenario for massive civil unrest. It is conditioning.

Perhaps but I still can't see broadcasting a major weakness. I can understand our government being able to crash the grid when it benefits them but in this instance I'm talking against foreign enemies.

I watched a damn television special a few years ago that explained exactly how to halt all oil refinement and production within the united states and described exactly how to blockade the shipping lanes through sabotage. It aired on the main stream media. I was like WTF!

Those in charge of the media are obviously controlled by anti American Organizations.

an emp wouldnt do shit.

about the worst a non nuclear does is restart your computer maybe eject the dvd drive.

no effect on cars whatsoever.

a nuclear emp the same 19/20 cars will have no effect at all.

batteries are not effected.

the only things that are going to be effected are non shielded items, which are rare or cheap crap anyway.

Hawaii.

High altitude test, which is the only way nukes work as an EMP weapon. Discovered by accident when HI lost power.
