Abstract
High-volume aerosol samples were collected at the Mt. Zeppelin Global Atmosphere Watch station, Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard (78°58′N, 11°53′E). The samples were analysed to find out if the radionuclide emissions from the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident in March 2011 could be detected also in the atmosphere of the High Arctic. Iodine-131 and 134Cs and 137Cs were observed from 25 March 2011 onwards. The maximum 131I, 134Cs and 137Cs activity concentrations were 810 ± 20, 659 ± 13, and 675 ± 7 μBq/m3, respectively.

The took a vacuum cleaner bag from a house in Fukushima Japan, and tested the bag. They found a hot particle.
the bag measured 310 bq/kg. so the split the bag in 1/2 and tested both half's.
both the samples then measured zero!?!

They hit the sample with their knife, when they cut the bag, so they tested the knife with the hot particle on it. 40000000000000000000/bq/kg that is measured in PITA Bq!!!

Anyway. Yeah, an extremely large amount of radioactive material has been released from those reactors. And continues to be released to this day. And will continue for a very, very long time.

Hell, the spent fuel rods that got blown sky high when the containment domes exploded was bad enough. On top of that the cores themselves melted down. So yeah... the situation is FUBAR.
