I bought a Toyota T-100 truck in 1995, it's been super reliable, about 180,000 k on it. They don't make them anymore, it's midsize with a roomy extra cab. Like OP I will rue the day of its retirement, but likely...

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25646874

I'd be so torn, sorry brother. If you have to, you have to,.

If I was well off, I'd give you a grand and store it for you for when your ready to get it back. However I'm not and my chick deserves a ring which every last cent is being saved for.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25646874

You are a fucking good man and a very lucky lady you got there. That's another issue I rent so I have no space to keep her because I dam well would she would be a knockout in say another 10-15 years with new paint and a new engine. They built them well the last year of the square bodies in 92. Swear to god I want to cry as silly as that sounds. She took me to and from in the best of places and darkest never failed. Thank you for those kind words brah!!rockon

And this is why I always come back to this site. I may not be able to afford a membership anymore but I love the people here. Your not alone in the struggle, we just haven't met yet

If you do sell your truck, I'll call your local bar and 3 beers are on me

dasbier
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25646874

Just call on me brother if you ever need backup! I will gladly share my membership powa with you. You know I never gave her a name but she deserves one. Long bed v6 with the better 4.0 motor. I went cheap on her the last two years with oil and other fluids and I think she felt that. I bet she could take me to Florida if I coaxed her into it? She was solid steel a real mini beast but time has gotten to her like it will to me. Bet I don't sleep tonight. rockon
 Quoting: iBYTE on 2

It's funny because I always gave trucks male names and cars girl names....I'm glad you never gave him a girl name lol .

Wanted to start this thread as my beloved 92 Ford Ranger is on its way out and I will be car/truck shopping tomorrow! Looking at a 05 Ford Ranger with all the fixings but with the good people here I may just choose from the list. My 92 was the best truck evaaaa! but the old girl is peeing and shitting on herself and she is tired with 382k her time is up. verysad
 Quoting: iBYTE on 2

My daily regular driver is a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, just under 102K miles on it. Got it with 54,500 miles almost 2 years ago.

My daily work vehicle is a 99 Ford Escort sedan with almost 133k miles on it. Had 122,500 when I got it back in November.

As long as its the GXE you have the better model. My wifes 09 Altima Coupe is wicked fast very classy and I love the CVT trans even though I know its something I will never be able to service on my own. 8 quarts at 10-12 dollars of CVT fluid every 30k at service bugs me though. cool2

I remember when my Ranger hit 100k I was like o shit here we go lol! now at 382k its o shit and goodbye. I wish I had a place to park it I would keep it. Truck never needed anything until around 250k that was a water pump and alternator. Like I said it was because I went cheap two years ago that's where my issues started. rockon

Bet you are good with maintenance? Most of the people replying here all have cars rocking and rolling because they care about their ride. I love cars and trucks not so much the Korean made ones even though they fucking look like BMW'S. Saw a Hyundai and I swear it looked like it was worth a million bucks. If it isn't broke don't fix I know but my Ranger is broke and tired its about that time.rockon
