AMAZING VIDEO: Cat saves boy from dog attack in Southwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD - A cat came to her best friend's rescue Tuesday when the young boy was attacked in his driveway in Southwest Bakersfield.

The surveillance video shows the boy playing on his bicycle when a dog sneaks up behind him and grabs his leg.

The family's cat, named Tara, rushes the attacking dog and chased it away.

I agree. As much as I love animals, I think this dog should be put down. There was no provocation on the child's part. It looks like the dog was on the hunt, and found it's prey.Gut feeling tells me this dog will attack again.

As for the cat, there is no doubt that he saved the child from further injury or even death. This cat should be eating premium cat food, salmon, or whatever it likes the best, for the rest of it's life. Hero Kitty !!!

How are people not understanding these videos are from surveillance cameras around the outside of the house, not a couple of people with hand held video cameras?

But it seems like the cat is right there, dog circles around car, gets by child, hesitates when he sees cat, than grabs child's leg, cat pounces

Maybe, but I think the "hesitation" was simply the dog gauging it's "prey", in this case, the child.
