CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A 40-foot sinkhole has opened up on the football field at Austin Peay State University.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when a small sinkhole first appeared. Officials said it was about the size of a desk. Crews started work to stop the hole from growing, but it wouldn’t stop.

By Monday, the sinkhole was estimated to be 30 by 50 feet wide -- and 40 feet deep.

So far, it has swallowed part of the field and track of Governors Stadium. The stadium is currently undergoing renovations.

If you are looking to relocate in any state one has to look at the geographical make-up and understand that any area whose foundation is composed of evaporative rocks such as salt and gypsum or Karst from evaporative rock or Karst from evaporative rock are prone to sinkholes especially after heavy rains.

That is the beautiful thing about nature and physics, unlike politics and whimsical mans rules, nature and physics always acts and does not care whether a region of space is a house, a football field, a parking lot. Time, pressure, water, and gravity mixed under the right conditions will once, twice, a trillion times produced results. Not to get contributions, not to look good for the camera, not because of the fiction to which a few people wrote their name on a piece of paper while using force to subject others by it.
