...

Anon Coward,
Do you not think that the Fukushima Plume from the explosions spread Radiation all over the tsunami debris? Or that the tonnes of radioactive water that is being DUMPED into the Pacific Ocean will not follow the same ocean currents, along with the tsunami debris? So when I say FUKUSHIMA TSUNAMI DEBRIS, I am saying that this TSUNAMI DEBRIS HAS FUKUSHIMA RADIATION ALL OVER IT.

Whether this floating trash came from this prefecture, or that region, or wherever the FUK it came from, WHO GIVES A SHIT!

Who is going to clean up Japan's trash in the ocean? How about YOUR Government hire YOUR fishing fleet to go clean up YOUR trash? Oh, wait, there is radiation in there, we can't do that, its not safe.

GIVE ME A FUK'n BREAK
 Quoting: Chugiakian

Actually the Japanese done and do a lot regarding this Debris,
what you call "the Tsunami Debris" is just less than 5% of the real
amount we faced here in Japan.

The Majority of this Debris is in front of our Coast and every single Day
Thousands of People clean it up with Caterpillars, special Boats,
Divers, Nets, etc.
this is the Reason why i wrote that you should research The Topico.

For example: [link to www.env.go.jp]

To get a feeling for the Numbers!

Treatment in affected areas
Approx. 94% of debris has been removed to temporary storage sites.

Wether it is the size of Texas or not, still it is not cleaned up.
...

Other concerns such as radiation, meanwhile, have been downplayed. On its website, the NOAA says, “Radiation experts agree that it is highly unlikely that any tsunami-generated marine debris will hold harmful levels of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear emergency.”

Independent groups like the 5 Gyres Institute, which tracks pollution at sea, have echoed the NOAA’s findings, saying that radiation readings have been “inconsequential.” Even the release of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear reactor shouldn't be a grave concern, since scientists say it will be diluted to the point of being harmless by the time it reaches American shores in 2014.
These are the same paid NRC experts who promote Nuclear is 'safe'

and we should believe them???
 Quoting: Chugiakian

Actually you can believe it!

You will get more Info here but it is from June 2012
but we improved the Treatmento a lot because this is Japan
and we do not care small Money:
[link to postconflict.unep.ch]

Please researc:
a.) How much Debris in whole Japan
b.) How much from F'Shima Prefecture
c.) How much from the 30 Zone around of the Plant
d.) Time of the Tsunami
e.) Time of the massive Venting Operations
f.) etc.

We studied the Levels of Contamination of the delivered Tsunami Debris
here in Tokyo, we found nothing, not even in the Sludge!

You expect tooooooo muchas and this is a good Sign
because you are careful but now look for the real Reasons
for the Shift in the migration Process of all the Fishes!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61075448

from your article...

[snip]
The masses of floating debris have since spread to a much larger area, aided by wind and currents. There are numerous mathematical ocean current-based models which predict that these patches of marine debris will eventually be washed over onto the west coast of North America and also onto South Pacific islands. It is already known that the debris is no longer moving in single or multiple spectacular patches and is unlikely to arrive on any coastline in a sudden and dramatic fashion.
Both the US Environmental Protection Agency and
US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have been proactively looking for any signs of the debris arriving on US shores, as have the Canadian authorities. The US authorities have also committed to collect and return to Japan any debris which is clearly identifiable as being of Japanese origin and that may have sentimental value. As of early May 2012, debris suspected to be from the tsunami had washed up on
the coastline of Alaska and Washington state, among other areas, and was being documented.
...
While there is very little which can now be done to prevent the debris from accumulating at sea or washing up wherever the currents are going to take it, the media and public interest in the fate of floating tsunami debris could be used to raise awareness internationally of the growing challenge of marine debris.
...
The fear regarding radiation contamination has prevented this debris from being sent to the national hazardous waste management centres. As it would not make economic or practical sense for each municipality to establish its own hazardous waste management centre, an appropriate solution would be for
the impacted municipalities along the coast to collaborate and set up a single, shared Integrated Hazardous Waste Management area for the treatment and safe disposal of tsunami-related hazardous waste.

synopsis....

There is little being done about the debris in the ocean (other than monitoring).
and radiation still follows the path the debris takes in the ocean.

my plate is full in researching what I am currently researching, so I will forego the research of your 'f.) etc.'

Nuclear Hotseat #162: US Military Radiation Report Refuted by USS Reagan's Simmons and Epidemiologist Mangano
The Activist Voice of the Anti-Nuclear Movement
Produced and Hosted by Libbe HaLevy
INTERVIEWS:
*The United States military just issued a Congressionally-mandated report that says, in effect, that Fukushima’s radiation could not possibly be responsible for the catastrophic illnesses being experienced by the sailors from the USS Ronald Reagan, despite all appearances and common sense to the contrary.
So two genuine experts take on that report:
*US Navy (retired) Steve Simmons, a 17-year veteran of the service who was on the USS Reagan and three years later is confined to a wheelchair with a wide range of physical illnesses. He takes on the lack of logic in the report, as well providing his deeply personal response. (Steve was originally interviewed on Nuclear Hotseat #159) [link to ow.ly]

*Joseph Mangano, Executive Director of Radiation and Public Health Project, offers an epidemiological analysis of that report, pointing out flaws in its premises and its historic similarity to other occasions when the US government downplayed nuclear dangers.
NUMNUTZ OF THE WEEK:
*If the officers in charge of arming and firing US nuclear missiles can’t pass their tests, the Air Force has the answer: change the way they’re graded! Self esteem and anti-bullying classes next on the schedule…
PLUS:
*Ma Nature‘s getting really pissed as monkeys in Japan show low blood counts and cesium in their muscle tissue, caribou herds in Alaska hit record lows, and starfish keep dying and sliming up the beaches of North America’s west coast.
*Fukushima’s ice wall is less of a popsicle, at best like a Slushie, and ain’t gonna stop no water no how. Didn’t anyone ever explain to the Japanese that salt water freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water? No wonder all that ice they dumped in just melted…
*Genuine expert invited to the Japanese Ministry of Environment’s Expert Meeting Discussing Health Support After the Fukushima Nuclear Accident tries to discuss providing health support to local residents… and is not allowed to talk by the meeting Chair, who is also the man who invited him.
