Today I heard a message that reminded me, from the beginning of time we have been in search for a great Leader. So from the past who was your favorite and why?

Human form and was a Leader of a Country.

Mine was Elizabeth I of England, because she stood the test and over came many trials and created a better system for her country.

I like Rubio for saying to parents, do NOT tell your children
of your past, they do not need to know.

Rubio revealed previously, he didn't get good grades, 2.1 but was still a success. Young people have come up to him and
agreed, thinking they do not have to work in school.

Seee....parents, do not tell your children the negative of
your past life. IE: another example, smoking pot. Don't share it.

Re: Who was or is your favorite Leader and why ?? Is there someone living today that replicates that person?
Golda Meir(earlier Golda Meyerson, born Golda Mabovitch, Голда Мабович; May 3, 1898 – December 8, 1978) was an Israeli teacher, kibbutznik, politician and the fourth Prime Minister of Israel.

Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel on March 17, 1969, after serving as Minister of Labour and Foreign Minister. Israel's first and the world's third woman to hold such an office, she was described as the "Iron Lady" of Israeli politics years before the epithet became associated with British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Former Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion used to call Meir "the best man in the government"; she was often portrayed as the "strong-willed, straight-talking, grey-bunned grandmother of the Jewish people".

She was strong, yet compassionate. She was an amazing leader in my humble opinion.

Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, LG OM PC FRS (née Roberts, 13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013), was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century and is the only woman to have held the office. A Soviet journalist called her the "Iron Lady", a nickname that became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style. As Prime Minister, she implemented policies that have come to be known as Thatcherism.

Both were true leaders

So no one can really come up with the name of a good leader. Maybe that is why our country is in the toilet. We have no leaders that everyone can say "There is a true leader."

How sad.

The only true leaders I have known: The attorney I worked for who went in to become a federal judge.

My Sunday School teacher who was also an interior designer who was a fabulous mentor.

My pastor at a small southern church who helped everyone he could, baptized thousands, and suffered more than any man should have to.

My bishop and the LDS church which have thousands of good men who are potential leaders.

Other than that I know of only one politician that I would declare a leader and that is Trey Gowdy.

I also like Glenn Beck, but he is not the leader of a country.

You might say that about the first few decades of her reign, but most all historians agree that the last decade and a half of her reign was a complete failure. The "better system" you talk about became calcified, she could no longer change with the times. She refused to reform to meet new tensions in the society when she could have. By the reign of James I, the tensions in the society were already too strong to reform the balance of power between the nobility and the gentry in parliament in a way that would have consensus support. Also, her earlier compromises in the church/state relationships were no longer working. Most historians agree that her failure to reform when she could have lay the ground for the civil war. This is not to say that the failures to compromise of James, Charles, the forces of parliament, those with competing religious, etc., didn't make the situation worse.

"Let all men know how emptyand worthless is the power of kings. For there is none worthy of the name but God, whom heaven, earth, and sea obey." ......King Canute the Great Viking warrior of England

There are a group of people who.would.like to silence everybody and have everybody go along to get along, but that's not going to be very helpful for us in the long run, in terms of solving our problems. And somebody has to be courageous enough to actually stand up to, you know, the bullies. " Ben Carson.........run Ben run please!

I don't need any "leader", but the country does require an administrator. Thomas Jefferson did a good job in his day, and Gary Johnson - former two term governor of New Mexico did a great job and would do the country well as president.
