All you have to do is heat up a metal spoon under hot tap water for a minute or so, then press it directly against the bite. Hold it tight against your skin for a couple of minutes, and when you take it off, the itch should be gone for good. When mosquitoes bite you, they inject proteins under your skin to keep your blood from clotting. It's this protein that causes you to itch, but it can't survive at the moderately high temperatures a hot spoon can create. The bump might linger for a few days, but the uncomfortable itching should be gone for good! LPT: Mosquito bite? Press a hot spoon (e.g. the one you stirred your coffee with) onto the spot. The heat will destroy the protein that caused the reaction and the itching will stop. |

For anyone looking for a true mosquito repellant, the most effective thing out there is DEET. I hardly doubt anything will ever be as good as DEET, so unfortunately I'll continue to coat myself in that poison during summer camp outs. Someone_1111 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58199146 Fabric softener dryer sheets for me. I rub it on my arms, neck & legs & then tuck it into my waistband, belt, belt loop, whatever & zero bites for me to even contemplate the itch. I do have to wonder, though, if the hot spoon would work for fire ant bites........ I'm a proud Texan & American, posting from Central Texas & have no clue why my flag shows friggin Canada(no offense to my Canadian friends).

If you use shielding, you can program your shield to keep away pests. I haven't been bitten by a mosquito in years! Of course, if there is a lesson involved, shielding won't work. There's no need get caught up in the lessons of others, folks. Use shielding - problem solved. Like a boss. |
