For caregivers as well I haven't read the thread yet...I've been avoiding it...but I guess it's time for me to get some support... Quoting: Tampa Heather I'm sorry about your friend. :( I started off in the thread, but had to leave it because I can only take so much of this kind of conversation before I just panic. Now that I know what's going on with Joannie though, I can't leave it. I just now came back after I posted that... The thing is no one wants pity or sympathy... It is just soo hard :/ I feel so guilty even admitting it...I know how this reality works so I didn't want to put it into words...but I need help coping :( Thank you for your kind words... What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger... |

For caregivers as well Heather, I hear ya sweetie. I put off pain as long as I can as well. Who wants to feel that kind of heart ache? But holding it in and bottling it up is no good for you. I know you are an extremely intelligent woman, so I know you know that. But when it comes to certain things our perspective takes the back seat. I'd be crushed if a close friend was going through this. I actually AM crushed because a close friend, our Joannie, IS going through this. I think of Joannie ALL THE TIME. Driving to work this morning I almost broke down into tears over it. It hits the heart when someone you truly care about is suffering. You're left with a feeling of helplessness. You want to be able to take away their pain or be there physically for them...but can't do either. Stay strong for your friend. You'll both be in our prayers. You've come to a great thread for support my friend. Huge hugs to you!! ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

You're welcome, and it is hard. It's a very ugly disease to watch a loved one go through. :( There's no guilt in admitting it. We're not meant to handle everything all on our own. I have watched several relatives go through cancer, and the one thing that always amazes me is their strength and outlook. That's what helps me to snap out of it and keep it together. Joannie was like that in this thread. :) My cousin is about to embark on 33 radiation treatments and then chemo. This is after having a 12ish hour surgery to remove the cancer. |

I'm not even positive she will get the chemo because she was pretty set against it. I don't know too much either, and I'm afraid to do any searching on the internet. I just want to know how they come up with a number like 33... Thank you. |

Anyway, all best wishes to you both. X |
