How long have these people been overdue. I think 60 days is more then enough time to come up with payment or get shut off. Maybe there just free loaders taking it to the limit and i'm pretty sure they knew they were late on their bill. How can you just rack up 60 days worth of a water bill and not know. Then say, OMG they shut off my water. Please. No excuse. They knew it was coming and pushed it to the limit and now are cryin wolf. They had 60 days to try to get help to pay their bill, but they didn't. Someone else posted this link earlier. It looks like the numbskulls in charge of Detroit are playing all kinds of games with their water billing system, including not sending out the bills and massivly inflating them. It's pretty clear, Detroit land is worth far more without it's current residents, most likely to the Chinese and all the insiders able to broker the deals, hence the need to depopulate - sort of like the cows in Nevada. In addition water bill is tied to property taxes. So they will seize your home over unpaid wsater bill whether you owe or not. Many people DO NOT OWE what the records claim.
