You think the water falling from the sky is radiated but the water that comes out of your hose or shower faucet isn't? I don't know shit about radiation but I would think it's already everywhere and impossible to keep away. Sure you can be proactive but that's it.

Call your local health department to try to get them to release EPA readings. Readings in Diablo Canyon right now are 133 CPM. Be careful around there folks. Shellfish, CA. Alarm on the citizen reader's meter went off at 7:30 AM passing 100CPM. NRC not reporting on this yet as an incident.

SUBJECT: MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNITS 2 AND 3: UNUSUAL EVENT
DECLARED DUE TO LOSS OF OFFSITE POWER AND DUAL REACTOR
TRIPS

...The normal reactor coolant system letdown flow path was not
able to be established and this resulted in the rupture of the pressurizer relief tank rupture disk
inside containment. The relief valve on the volume control tank lifted when restoring normal
letdown. This caused the primary drains transfer tank to overflow into the auxiliary building.
This overflow path was isolated, and the normal letdown was subsequently restored. Both
Unit 3 EDGs started and supplied power to all safety buses and all safety systems responded
as designed. Off-site power was restored as of 12:56 p.m. on May 25, 2014. The NRC
residents responded to the site and continue to closely follow Dominion’s actions. NRC
oversight is being conducted through the NRC’s baseline inspection program.

After evaluating the causes of the event and assessing equipment condition, Dominion restarted
Unit 2 on May 27, 2014. Return to service of Unit 3 is pending additional evaluations and
equipment repairs...

That web site is full of shit. I am very close to one of their reporting sites that is well over 300cpm, and my detector says 19cpm. I don't think I would depend on them for radiation readings. Radiationnetwork.com works for me. I have found that when their reading are high in my area, my detector shows the same thing.

I've gone through this before. I live close by the Spokane monitor. There is nothing there, its actually a raised parking structure. So how is it that a monitor that is not there is registering 415 CPM?

I do not know about the other locations but the Spokane one is not there.
