Spain's King Juan Carlos I to abdicate Throne
[link to www.cnn.com]

After nearly 40 years on the throne, King Juan Carlos I of Spain will be stepping down, the country's prime minister said Monday.

Crown Prince Felipe, 46, will succeed his father, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy announced in nationally televised address.

Rajoy did not offer a reason for the king's planned abdication. The king is expected to issue a statement later Monday.

Spaniards generally hold Juan Carlos, 76, in high regard for his service to the nation and his defense of democracy after the death of the dictator Francisco Franco in 1975.

But the king's popularity took a hit in 2012 over a controversial elephant-hunting trip to Africa while the nation was mired in a deep economic crisis.

The focus of his reign was to bring about reconciliation between Spaniards of different political persuasions, and from different regions.

This is weird. Wonder if it has something to do with the Vatican takeover of Jerusalem, there is a new King in town.

Juan Carlos - one of his titles is King of Jerusalem - thought it was always just a title with no power in it - maybe not

I thought King Juan Carlos I was the royal head in Europe who also functions in a second (more important) role in elite globalist circles which is the political figurehead of the Jesuits.

There is more to this abdication.

This is a major development.

It would have to have an impact on Vatican policy/plans.

Crown Prince Felipe, 46, will succeed his father... the line continues but with younger blood.

The Queen of Denmark did the same a year ago.

It's quite strange that 2 Monarchs and a Pope have now resigned and handed over to younger blood.

How many European Monarchs have abdicated in the past? I bet there's not many!

House/Dynasty of Bourbon, Braganza, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Wettin, Hanover..., Just choose a Royal House and look at the connections, many of which remain today.

King Carlos' House of Bourbon is part of a very powerful dynasty indeed.

It's just so weird that even in the 21st century we still accept specific chosen families to 'rule' over us.

Crazy isn't it. I can't get my head around why we still have ruling dynasties.

"...each house is designated by a name which distinguishes it from other houses. Strictly, a royal house is a dynasty whose members reign while bearing the title of king or queen,..."

Maybe there's some monarchists lurking on GLP that can explain why we need them, what benefit there is to having them, bla, bla, bla?

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant?

Did He not cause their war to end in confusion?

And send against them birds in

Casting at them decreed stones —

So He rendered them like straw eaten up?

I think it has more to do with how Pope John Paul II was wheeled around like a fucking vegetable the last few years there.

So, the proper course nowadays is to just let someone younger take over than wait until you need someone to wipe your ass for you and you can't talk.
