Prediction: Minimum wage goes to $15 an hour. All the dreadlock fast food workers cheer, shake hands and roll a joint. Meanwhile, every mom and pop shop hauls ass out of Washington, and the stores that don't leave cut back everybody's hours.

Does anybody else remember the big billboard next to the freeway in Seattle that said "Will the last person to leave please turn off the lights" or something to that effect. Aerospace (Boeing and subcontractors) dumped and people just walked away from their houses, could no longer pay the mortgages.

they can still inch up from 11 or 12 then end on 15 in two years or so to make a easy rise

I would in no way shape or form keep a "minimum wage laborer" for $15.00 an hour if I can hire a young tradesman for 18-19/hr

I live in Seattle. I make $15 an hour now. This barely gets me by. It's nearly as pricey as San Fran. My friends apartments are all doubling in rent. I kinda like this new wage. Maybe my employer will pay me more to keep my services here. I can make $15 anywhere now.

i work in IT/Helpdesk, 45 hours a week...and only make 17.50...

just means you will pay more taxes to the federal government.

60 hours and you still wont break 600 s week after healthcare and taxes.

they have to make more money to pay for their legal weed!
