Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Laziness, Wrath, Envy, Pride

I've realized for me personally, my greed, lust, wrath, and pride during different times in my life have possessed me. It's just like what many say demon possession is like, I feel something taking over my body and controlling me.

My current theory is that all of the seven deadly sins are possessing spirits because I've seen first how when someone falls into the trap of one of those sins/spirits, they act possessed, they don't seem like themselves anymore and the seven deadly sins take them over and over more as they give in.

You can see this at work at any casino around the world 24/7, just walk around and you'll find somebody possessed by greed.

And of course there's the "green eyed monster of envy", anyone seen that?

Any thoughts on this?

i don't think it has anything to do with spirits, more of our own fleshly desire to seek after things outside of ourselves…

You could be right, I just know how my personal experience has been and what I've seen in others. This is my personal conclusion although I've heard this elsewhere but that's doesn't mean it's much more likely to be true.

It probably is a combination of course especially with lust and greed I'd say.

Remove the religious connection and you will finally discover these are mental illnesses that are the basis for all of societies and each individuals problems and failures.

They are implosions in the mind, black holes that overtake and absorb everything else good, bad, or neutral. The implosion takes forever to complete.

Fear has always been a big problem for me and I'd put it in the same category as the deadly sins.

But, ironically, the idea of the seven deadly sins comes from the Bible but the Bible views fear as positive sometimes,
