Me? My shoulder loves the beating cause 12ga are so much fun to shoot. But if I shoot all day even I find myself using my lead hand to pull the shotcannon forward to dampen the kinetic energy . |

Try a side by side. A little more weight will help with the recoil. Also maybe try some Winchester AA Low Noise Low Recoil shells. They'll still get the job done. |

You're much less likely to shoot yourself, and the muscle discipline is way more challenging -- as a hobby, I never really enjoyed guns. I got a couple of bows that will just tear the crap out of your fore arm or leave indents in finger tips. sheell be right mate |

The recoil pads on most single shots are like a rock. Replace the recoil pad with a rubber one and that will help a lot. |

Get a Rock Island Armory M5 12ga pump . They are all steel ( receiver , barrel , trigger , trigger guard ) No aluminum or composites . Heavy sum bitch but it is very well built . Dual slide rails and all . Best part is it can be had for 200- 220 out the door brand new It's a heavy sum bitch but all that steel really improves felt recoil and its cheap as hell compared to the more expensive mossberg maverick 88 with aluminum receiver and other components. |

Thats what i thought either a heavier shotgun DBL BRRL or make some reduced loads I load my own. I have a couple original 1887 Winchester lever action 12ga that I love to shoot but I don't want to put full house loads thru them because of their age. So I load my own on a Dillon progressive and make them a little lighter for the guns. For factory ammo the Winchester AA low recoil load is equivalent to my hand loads. |

For instance I use to go shooting with my uncle and he had a S&W bodyguard which is a .380 . Usually the .380 is an anemic load kinda like a .32 and has not much recoil. But for the life of me I could not shoot that gun for anything because it was so small so light so thin I couldn't get a good purchase on the weapon and it weighed nothing. So the usually anemic boring .380 was so small and light it jumped around in my hand every shot and I couldn't get the correct purchase to fire a steady shot. But if you go shooting again before you can get something more suited to you seriously try pulling the shotgun forward with your foregrip hand and backwards with your stock / trigger hand. When you master that technique 12 really isnt bad at all |

Either a '87 or a 1901. Those were the only lever shotguns Winchester made. Most common were 10 ga. Which is probably what Arnold used. |

Tight to your shoulder. Weight on front foot and lean into it. The fun part is honing your ability to hit shit/blow shit up. The trick to recoil is to expect it without flinching. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
