I have also placed alum (or ran a styptic pencil) over the cut prior to gluing. This keeps the area cleaner and lessens the chances of the bond separating. Note, however, that super glue is not waterproof, much less saliva-proof. The best super glue product I have tried is by far the offering from Gorilla Glue. |

Also can't speak to the Dude who asked about sub-q uses, I've never had cause to try to patch up somethig that deep with it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56917749 Can ya glue muscle together with it? Is it toxix? Will it dissolve?? It can be toxic to tissue according to the literature, but I've never had any problems. And it has been used in deep wounds - extensively in Viet Nam, but the soldiers were taken to surgery as soon as possible. There have been reports where it dissolves over time, for example when it is used to glue an internal blood vessel. But if you're in a pinch, with no medical support - it's a good first line measure. |

I kinda panicked and was going to get the emergency kit, but he reached in his bag for his crazy glue and glued his cut. I was amazed it closed the wound so quickly, he just went back to work. He said he as been using it for years. |
Let Freedom Ring (OP) User ID: 59062302 ![]() 06/09/2014 09:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | do you put glue in the cut or punch the cut shut and wipe glue over the surface and blow on it til its dry? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34774361 I put glue right in the cut, and hold the wound edges together for at least 60 seconds. Although there is some bleeding, I've always found it stops continued bleeding, and the blood doesn't keep the wound edges from bonding. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 51876873 ![]() 06/09/2014 10:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just had a hernia repair, and inside were dissolving stitches, but outside was super-glued. Was told it was better, and leaves an almost invisible scar. I'm a guy so I don't give a crap about scars, but the incision is barely noticable now after a month. |
