Rabid Wolf User ID: 59126651 United States 06/13/2014 11:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Google Earth is your friend: Barrett Lake, Lake Morena, (there is a lovely valley that goes between those two places (about a 6.5 mile long trail). Loveland Reservoir looks pretty nice. All 3 of those places are within 40 miles of downtown San Diego. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53588270 In California, it is illegal to swim in reservoirs. Ducks and fish can, but humans can't. It's a tad more complicated than just bringing up google maps. I am ignorant of California laws since I don't live anywhere near that State. I'll leave it up to the OP to find out what is or is not legal to do in their state. To make that easier, here is a link to browse that lists which lakes you can swim in: [link to www.totalescape.com] |

emerald_glow (OP) User ID: 53523886 United States 06/13/2014 03:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The waters of California have been contaminated for years, and the government lets people swim at their own risk. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59201676 People get sick swimming in polluted waters (losing a kidney or two), or didn't you know? Maybe...or maybe (as we are on GLP)....how about they want us to forget dipping/swimming? Water -especially pure, natural water - is more, than just a compound of H and O - it is sacred, it is a carrier of information, it has several still unexplained properties. Little known fact for instance, that dipping in water is an very effective way of eliminating the effect of radiation from our body. Baths has been healing centers for thousands of years, and still are in most of the countries of Europe and Asia. In the us we just shower at home, soaking in the bathtub counts as a special occasion treat. Last Edited by emerald_glow on 06/13/2014 03:46 PM Emerald_Glow |
