Muslims and Christians believe in the same creator, He just gave out a different messages at different times

If muslims believe that Christians worship the same G-d as muslims then why do muslims call Christians non believers and either try to kill them or convert them? Why would G-d want muslims to kill those who also believe in Him? Well, you have to discern between the message being conveyed in the scriptures and how it's being practised. The Quran does not teach to Muslims to kill Christians, rather it's a grave sin.
