I read and followed this thread closely when it was first posted as I live on Key West and work as an independent consultant helping businesses and individuals file claims with the Deep Water Horizon Settlement Program..

I just wanted to report that I have been swimming on either the Atlantic or Gulf side every single day since the original post and have yet to experience any problems...

I do have clients with VERY SERIOUS health problems related to the spill but myself and the abundant sea life I observe on a daily basis (nurse sharks, sting ray, horse shoe crab, many shape and size fish, the Osprey and Pelicans that eat those fish) all appear to be unaffected at this point.

Who knows if it will manifest later on down the road but for now I'm very healthy enjoying each day like it's my last... I left my home in Washington state because of Fuku and have since decided that I would rather die than live in a world so contaminated that we can't enter in to the water.

So, if I do contract some terrible organism that begins to dissolve my insides, I'm gonna order some seared ahi tuna, salmon and halibut sushi, shoot a half dozen raw oysters, devour a Dungeness crab, and swallow a hollow point round for desert...
