bright flash of light over austin tx 7/5/2006

I was washing a dish and looking out window
wife was in the same room. Saw a flash of bright light for a split second, so bright that it was like someone turned on a ligh switch. I didn't say anything to my wife, thougt it was a flash back.
Wife said did you see that...
Anyone else in Austin see it. I did a search and found a blog that a person did see the same thing, but it was in 2005. oh by the way it was around 6pm day light. the flash was brighter than the day.
