Did Obama Order the Benghazi Cover-up to Protect the Muslim Brotherhood?

New information in the just released book, Blood Feud, by Edward Klein, puts President Barack Obama directly in the middle of creating the cover-up of Benghazi. It is that cover-up that led to the creation last month of a Special Select Committee in the House of Representatives to investigate the Administration’s handling of the security failure in Benghazi, Libya. As in the 1970s Watergate Hearings into the crimes of Richard Nixon, the question being asked in Washington is “what did the President know, and when did he know it.”

According to Blood Feud, President Obama personally ordered Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to cover up the known facts about the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks, which resulted in the killing of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other American officials. The book portrays deep personal divisions between the Clinton and Obama families.

The most dramatic revelation in the book concerned the Benghazi attacks. According to attorneys and close aides to then-Secretary of State Clinton, she received a personal telephone call from President Barack Obama at 10 P.M. on the night of the Benghazi attacks, ordering her to prepare a State Department press release, claiming that the attack on the U.S. mission was a “spontaneous” response to the circulation of a video slandering the Prophet Mohammed.

According to an account provided to the author by Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff Cheryl Mills, by 6 P.M. on September 11, 2012, all top Administration officials had received an intelligence briefing that the specific building where Ambassador Stevens was hiding had been “set on fire by Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda-linked terror group that had claimed credit for the attack.” Long before the 10 P.M. call by President Obama to Secretary Clinton, it was clear to top Administration national security officials that the assault in Benghazi was a pre-planned and well-armed paramilitary attack carried out by a known al-Qaeda affiliate. There were no demonstrations at the site.

Hillary Clinton received detailed updates from Cheryl Mills, obtained from the CIA, the Pentagon and the State Department’s own Intelligence and Research Bureau (INR), the book recounts. “In addition,” Klein reported, “Mills asked Tom Donilon, the president’s national security adviser, to give Hillary periodic updates. Donilon told Hillary that the National Security Agency had intercepted electronic communications between Ansar al-Sharia, the main Libyan militia behind the consulate attack, and AQIM [Al Qaeda in the Islamic Magreb]. Ansar al-Sharia was claiming on Twitter that it was responsible for the assault.”

At 5:45 P.M., Hillary Clinton had spoken personally to General David Petraeus, the Director of the CIA, to confer on the unfolding attacks in Benghazi. Both Clinton and Petraeus knew that of the 40 American officials in Benghazi, only seven were actual State Department personnel. The rest were CIA. “The consulate’s primary purpose was to provide cover for the thirty-plus Americans who worked for the CIA,” Klein explained. The CIA team in Benghazi was involved in clandestine funneling of arms purchased from Libyan militias to Syrian rebels fighting to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

As MEB has reported for the last three weeks, at the time of the Benghazi assault, which took place on the eleventh anniversary of the original 9/11 attacks, the Obama Administration policy was to support the Muslim Brotherhood and Brotherhood-linked Islamic factions as part of a policy that had been spelled out in two Presidential Directives in August 2010 and February 2011. In Libya, according to MEB sources, the Muslim Brotherhood was closely allied with militias, including Ansar al-Sharia. Yet, none of the Muslim Brotherhood members in close contact with U.S. officials gave any advance warning about the pending Benghazi attacks, according to one senior U.S. intelligence source who spoke to MEB on condition of anonymity.

The United States and the Muslim Brotherhood Part 2: Egyptian MBs Got Special Status



In April 2012, as the Presidential decisions for Egypt were underway, the U.S. Department of State and Department of Homeland Security granted special status to an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood delegation that came to the United States. At the time, under Presidential Study Directive 11 and Presidential Policy Directive 13, the Obama Administration was actively promoting the Muslim Brotherhood as a leading “democratic” force for change in a number of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region countries, including Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya. In many eyes, the MB visit to Washington “sealed the deal” that the MBs and “political Islam” would be the winners in the first election after the overthrow of Mubarak.

According to MEB sources, the planning and implementation of the Egyptian MBs visit to the U.S. was in line with the policy laid out in the still-classified Presidential Study Directive 11 (PSD 11). Between September 2010 and February 2011, the White House directed an interagency study involving the National Security Council and the Department of State, which radically altered U.S. policy in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood. Dozens of internal email messages between the National Security Council, White House and other agencies document the level of attention and priority given to developing a strategy concerning the Muslim Brotherhood and political Islamists. In addition, documents quoted here show the special treatment given to Egypt’s MBs in their first visit to the U.S.

A series of State Department and DHS documents, released under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, showed that the State Department’s Office of Protocol granted “Expedited Port Clearance” to four Muslim Brotherhood officials who had been invited to Washington by the Obama Administration to promote the image of the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party as a reform-minded moderate Islamist organization. The visit was two months before the Egyptian Presidential elections of June 2012, which were narrowly won by the FJP’s candidate Mohammed Morsi.

A State Department document defining the preconditions for such “Expedited Port Clearance” specifies that such special treatment is normally reserved for visiting heads of state, monarchs, members of their immediate family, or security personnel advancing such visits. A separate State Dept. document from the Office of Protocol indicates that the office has discretion to grant the privileged status to “others so designated by the Office of Protocol.” In other words, at the request of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, the State Department Office of Protocol granted a special waiver to the visiting Muslim Brotherhood delegation even though they did not meet the designated criterion for Expedited Port Clearance.

US State Department Document Reveals Extent of Cooperation Between Washington and the Muslim Brotherhood. Part I: The Libyan Muslim Brotherhood

Part I: The Libyan Muslim Brotherhood.

Starting from this issue, MEB will publish a series of reports based on documents it obtained under the Freedom of Information Act from the US State Department focusing on the US – Muslim Brotherhood “understandings” in different moments of the relation between the two sides.

For the past decade, two successive U.S. Administrations have maintained close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya, to name just the most prominent cases. The Obama Administration conducted an assessment of the MBs in 2010 and 2011, beginning even before the events known as the “Arab Spring” erupted in Tunisia and in Egypt. The President personally issued Presidential Study Directive 11 (PSD-11) in 2010, ordering an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood and other “political Islamist” movements, including the ruling AKP in Turkey, ultimately concluding that the United States should shift from its longstanding policy of supporting “stability” in the Middle East and North Africa (that is, support for “stable regimes” even if they were authoritarian), to a policy of backing “moderate” Islamic political movements.

To this day, PSD-11 remains classified, in part because it reveals an embarrassingly naïve and uninformed view of trends in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

Through an ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, thousands of pages of documentation of the U.S. State Department’s dealings with the Muslim Brotherhood are in the process of being declassified and released to the public. This is the first of an ongoing series of MEB reports on the contents of those documents and the underlying relationship between Washington and the global Muslim Brotherhood movement.

U.S. State Department documents obtained under the FOIA confirm that the Obama Administration maintained frequent contact and ties with the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood. At one point, in April 2012, U.S. officials arranged for the public relations director of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Gaair, to come to Washington to speak at a conference on “Islamists in Power” hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

A State Department Cable classified “Confidential” report says the following: “Benghazi Meeting With Libyan Muslim Brotherhood: On April 2 [2012] Mission Benghazi met with a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood steering committee, who will speak at the April 5 Carnegie Endowment `Islamist in Power’ conference in Washington, D.C. He described the Muslim Brotherhood’s decision to form a political party as both an opportunity and an obligation in post-revolution Libya after years of operating underground. The Brotherhood’s `Justice and Construction’ Party would likely have a strong showing in the upcoming elections, he said, based on the strength of the Brotherhood’s network in Libya, its broad support, the fact that it is a truly national party, and that 25 percent of its members were women. He described the current relationship between the Brotherhood and the TNC as `lukewarm.’|”

Another State Department paper marked “Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU)” contained talking points for Deputy Secretary of State William Burns’ scheduled July 14, 2012 meeting with Mohammed Sawan, the Muslim Brotherhood leader who was also head of the Brotherhood’s Justice and Construction Party. The document is heavily redacted, but nevertheless provides clear indication of Washington sympathies for the emergence of the Muslim Brotherhood as a major political force in the post-Qadaffi Libya. The talking points recommended that Secretary Burns tell Sawan that the U.S. government entities “share your party’s concerns in ensuring that a comprehensive transitional justice process is undertaken to address past violations so that they do not spark new discontent.”

The Burns paper described the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood: “Prior to last year’s revolution, the Muslim Brotherhood was banned for over three decades and its members were fiercely pursued by the Qadhafi regime. The Libyan Muslim Brotherhood (LMB) returned to Libya last year after years in exile in Europe and the United States, selected new leadership and immediately began to plan for an active role in Libya’s political future.” After a redacted section, the document continued, “The LMB-affiliated Justice and Construction party, led by Misratan and former political prisoner under Qadhafi Mohamed Sawan, was created in March 2012.

U.S. State Dept. Document Confirms Regime Change Agenda in Middle East

The Obama Administration has been pursuing a policy of covert support for the Muslim Brotherhood and other insurgent movements in the Middle East since 2010. MEB has obtained a just-released U.S. State Department document through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that confirms the Obama Administration’s pro-active campaign for regime change throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.

The October 22, 2010 document, titled “Middle East Partnership Initiative: Overview,” spells out an elaborate structure of State Department programs aimed at directly building “civil society” organizations, particularly non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to alter the internal politics of the targeted countries in favor of U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.

The five-page document, while using diplomatic language, makes clear that the goal is promoting and steering political change in the targeted countries: “The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) is a regional program that empowers citizens in the Middle East and North Africa to develop more pluralistic, participatory, and prosperous societies. As the figures in this overview illustrate, MEPI has evolved from its origins in 2002 into a flexible, region-wide tool for direct support to indigenous civil society that mainstreams that support into the daily business of USG diplomacy in the region. MEPI engages all the countries of the NEA region except Iran. In the seven of NEA’s eighteen countries and territories with USAID missions, country-level discussions and communication between MEPI and USAID in Washington ensure that programming efforts are integrated and complementary.”

In a section of the document titled “How MEPI Works,” three core elements of the program were spelled out: region-wide and multi-country programming, local grants, and country-specific projects. The objectives of the region-wide and multi-country programming were described as: “builds networks of reformers to learn from and support one another, and to catalyze progressive change in the region.” The local grants “provide direct support to indigenous civic groups, and now represent more than half of MEPI’s projects.” Under the country-specific aspect of the program, designated officers of the U.S. embassies manage the funding and work as direct liaisons to the various funded local NGOs and other civil society groups. The “country-specific projects” are tasked “to respond to local developments and local needs, as identified by our embassies, local reformers, and our own field analysis. Political developments in a country may produce new opportunities or challenges for USG policy goals, and MEPI will shift funds to respond to these needs.”

According to the October 2010 document, the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at every U.S. embassy in the MENA (Middle East/North Africa) is in charge of the MEPI program, giving it a clear high priority. The document makes clear that the Middle East Partnership Initiative is not coordinated with host governments: “MEPI works primarily with civil society, through NGO implementers based in the United States and in the region. MEPI does not provide funds to foreign governments, and does not negotiate bilateral assistance agreements. As a regional program, MEPI can shift funds across countries and to new issue-areas as needed.”

The document makes clear that special priority, as early as 2010, was given to Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Egypt and Bahrain, and that project headquarters in Abu Dhabi and Tunis were overall coordinating centers for the entire regional program. Within a year of its inception, Libya and Syria were added to the list of countries on the priority list for civil society intervention.

On May 23, 42 Arab military and security officials attending the third annual Moscow International Security Conference were briefed by a team of top Russian government officials on the growing danger of “color revolutions.” The uniform message presented by the Russian speakers was that the United States and NATO have adopted a new mode of warfare, focused on the use of irregular warfare forces, religious fanatics, and mercenaries, combined with the heavy use of information warfare. In a series of English language power-point graphs and maps, presenters gave a detailed chronology of the past decade, highlighting Western regime change operations in Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya and Yemen.

Russian officials and several Belarus counterparts argued that the U.S. and Western allies have devised a new form of warfare which is cheaper than all former modes of large-scale conventional warfare, produces fewer casualties, but seeks to achieve the same regime change objectives. They argued that this new form of irregular warfare violates the Geneva conventions, draws civilian populations directly into conflicts, and violates other traditional rules of war. They also asserted that the efforts have frequently failed, leading to widespread instability and the global spread of terrorism. The Russian speakers argued that, while the US and other Western powers profess to oppose terrorism, the consequences of their “color revolutions” have frequently bolstered the very terrorist organizations they are simultaneously combating.

I wish if you wanted to be a politician you had to give up all stocks and your family in ANYTHING to not be bribed or greedy so you truly represent NOT your family but your constituents like you lie and say you are. No owning drug trade, military equipment and arms scams or profiting off anything yourself you vote for and be satisfied with the huge salary and care no one else gets. compared to your constituents. This would stop all these games or be a deterrent. If you get caught cheating then no one in your family for 2 generations can run for offices.

Why would Muslim oil billionaires finance and develop controlling relationships with black college students? Well, like anyone else, they would do it for self-interest. And what would their self-interest be? We all know the top two answers to that question:

1. a Palestinian state and

2. the advancement of Islam in America.

The idea then was to advance blacks who would facilitate these two goals to positions of power in the Federal government, preferably, of course, the Presidency. And why would the Arabs target blacks in particular for this job? Well, for the same reason the early communists chose them as their vanguard for revolution (which literally means “change”) in America.

Allow me to quote Trotsky, in 1939: “The American Negroes, for centuries the most oppressed section of American society and the most discriminated against, are potentially the most revolutionary element of the population. They are designated by their historical past to be, under adequate leadership, the very vanguard of the proletarian revolution.”

Substitute the word “Islam” for the words “the proletarian revolution,” and you most clearly get the picture, as Islam is a revolutionary movement just like communism is.

Egypts christians ousted muslim brotherhood

You are welcome but I would like to correct that it's not Islam but radical Islam, the global jihadist movement, which is a minority of Muslims, and we have of course many converts from western countries, in the ISIL it has been revealed that thousands are holding foreign passports. It's a global legion, mercenaries - jihadist fighters follow only who pays them in the end, while the cannon fodder is brainwashed by radical religious teachings. Drugs&Money help too though.
