Pope Francis seeks forgiveness in church sex abuse scandal
No forgiveness for pedophiles.

Burn them alive and let god sort it out.

"Pope Francis met Monday with six victims of sexual abuse by clergy members, acknowledging that the failure of church leaders to act led to greater suffering.

"Before God and his people I express my sorrow for the sins and grave crimes of clerical sexual abuse committed against you. And I humbly ask forgiveness," Francis said in a homily during Mass with the victims, according to a text of the statement provided by the Vatican.

"I beg your forgiveness, too, for the sins of omission on the part of Church leaders who did not respond adequately to reports of abuse made by family members, as well as by abuse victims themselves," he said. "This led to even greater suffering on the part of those who were abused and it endangered other minors who were at risk."

He said "sins of clerical sexual abuse against minors have a toxic effect on faith and hope in God."

You will be Judged how you have judged.

Francis is forgiven as is the church and no harm will come to those who confess their sins, that it may be assured that they are not placed in a position of temptation again. May the Spirit of the God of Love and Peace come into them to release them from their desires.

God bless you Francis and God bless the Church.

Fair enough.

I welcome judgement.

I doubt these pedos do.

People have been using this church so that they could scapegoat their horrendous behavior for centuries.

Fuck that.

These pedophiles are a scourge against humanity, as are all those who justify or forgive them.

If you believe that there is a god, a better place upon death, then shooting them between the eyes will be a reward, not a punishment.

If you DON"T believe there is a god, a better place upon death, then you are a lying fucking enabler who thinks it's okay to prey on children, and you should be lined up with the pedos.

Well ... I believe that every priest who harmed a child should be in jail. To say the least. Once that happens I will work on my feelings of forgiveness.
My forgiveness does not help the children who suffered. Actually I do not want to forgive them. I pity them because my judgement of them is nothing compared to God's.

How long has this gone on and it's just now being addressed? Why now?
