Somebody asked me why things made by prison labor cannot be sold in the open market to customers other than the Government.

This is what I said as my answer.


Prison labor in the market is illegal for several reasons, for one thing, a person who makes things for a living to support his family, cannot compete in price with a captive prisoner trying to make just pennies to buy a bag of chips from the commissary with, to teach him the bare bones fundamentals of an honest day's labor works.

Secondly, they're captive and they are told what their job is, they don't have any choice.. and to use their labor in the market is usury, and it would kill our market some more.

We're trying to get companies to follow the same rules as the rest of us do, we don't need any more advantages given to these lying rat thieving scumfuck companies.

And thirdly, we have enough crime, more murders per year than entire countries..
We don't need to provide an incentive and say "if you do a crime, we'll force you to be in our market, and you'll make a good living by doing crimes".
