Newtown officers, dispatchers absent from governor's Sandy Hook award ceremony
What on earth?

Where are the Newtown dispatchers and police in Malloy's ceremony honoring 300 Sandy Hook responders from multiple agencies?

Where are dispatcher Nute, dispatcher Barocsi, and dispatcher Will; where are Newtow officers Chapman, Penna, Smith, Vanghele, Bahamonde and others? Why are the only Newtown officers mentioned Bean and Silver? How in God's name can you have a Sandy Hook emergency response award ceremony and not include the dispatchers who took the first 911 call and were responsible for the very first transmission alerting all of these 300 awardees to the shooting at Sandy Hook School? What is going on here--is it really coincidence that the above-named individuals ALL did not attend this ceremony? [link to newtown.patch.com]

Kerensa Gwir Nute, Barocsi and other Newtown ECC workers were honored locally and nationally; why is every, single Newtown ECC dispatcher absent from the state ceremony?

Where the hell are Kullgren, Kehoe?

McGowan for God's sake?

Does arriving on scene and running at a man you feel is armed and tackling him to the ground not count?

Interesting comment on one site:

"You forgot Paramedic Timothy Yurksaitis, EMT Nancy Squarciafico, EMT Kurt Novak and a whole slew of other first responders who were there!"

Just wondering.....does this little ceremony seem like something you would have if you are trying to cover up a multiple shooter scenario gone bad or some other planned massacre or would a it be.....ah heck...do you sense any real emotion at this little gathering?
Is there a chance we could get some honesty up in here?

I'd have to see footage, but it does seem fairly composed (no pun intended).

Apologists are trying to suggest that this ceremony was perhaps only for those "connected to the state investigation," but Malloy himself said it was for "the many first responders at work that day."

A ceremony for 300 people--all of whom wouldn't be there if it weren't for Bob Nute and Jenn Barocsi's dispatches, and all of whom arrived to find McGowan, Chapman, Penna, Bahamonde, Kehoe, Rios, Seabrook, Smith, Vanghele and Bahamonde on scene?

Chapman rescued a child, risking his own personal safety--nothing? What about Cathy Dahlmeyer and the crews of A2 and A3, the first of whom drove into zone still considered dangerous, and who then worked on the child to try and save her?

What about Hull, who escorted the two moms to safety while guys covered him from the roof?

What about McGowan who arrived in 3 minutes and never stopped running until he tackled a guy he thought had a gun (Manfredonia+cellpone)?

It's a very, very odd list.

How do you start that speech, anyway, "Somehow, these 300 people became aware of a school shooting; over the next half hour they began to arrive on scene, where some unknown guys in uniform had tackled a suspect and told them some stuff. These 300 then proceeded to initiate the Sandy Hook emergency response."

You think this is meant to keep everyone on task? Rumors some might be starting to crack so we have a little awards ceremony AGAIN to keep the storyline straight or maybe shame ( guilt by association )those that might be thinking about talking or maybe they are all starting to ask questions......

Re: Newtown officers, dispatchers absent from governor's Sandy Hook award ceremony
I think it's very odd to acknowledge how vitally important Newtown's contribution must have been given that (some) liaisons between Newtown and CSP were given awards; to not then include the actual Newtown first responders who were considered so vital to liaise with, strikes me as bizarre, especially when FBI and other non-CSP personnel are included. Bernie Meehan is not CSP--he of course deserves an award from the state, no question, but how is it that Chapman, who carried a child out from those same rooms, does not, nor EMT Cathy Dahlmeyer and crew who approached a danger zone to receive the patient?

Maybe since they all (probably) signed non-disclosure agreements, they are letting the people know something is wrong with the whole story by not attending.

Would you go?

You know what? They must be shoring up the ranks. It appears that only a few were actually made aware of the drills outcome. I would be willing to bet that 90% thought there was just a drill that day. These little award ceremonies and the little donations of money are to make sure nobody questions what is going on.

I get it now. Now it all makes perfect sense.

See also D's followup with a very interesting letter from a Fairfield Co EMT who also noticed the absences--she says she knows for a fact those absent were not invited.

The vid of the little get together did not seem very organized and there was this sense of going through the motions....did you get that impression?

If I were a first responder doing my job at that scene and I had been directed away, or excused from subsequent "insider" events, I would be FURIOUS. That would not be just a complete mockery of my work but of me as a human being. Nothing could be worse if you are a person trained in rescue and community safety. Utter disrespect.

Tells me it's on purpose.

Malloy's stammering didn't you get the feeling that this was rushed and pieced together?

Even LT Vance seemed so indifferent.

Re: Newtown officers, dispatchers absent from governor's Sandy Hook award ceremony
The thing is...you don't not invite Newtown by accident.

If you have to keep numbers down, you don't start conserving seats by taking away Nute's, Kullgren's, Halstead's, and Dahlmeyer's.

Let a desk jockey or two go--someone who played a lesser, off-site part.

You don't invite the only people to be present when bullets were flying? The only people to have blood on their hands? There is zero way Malloy--and tons of staff--all overlooked this by accident. That means it was purposeful.

Now why on earth would the governor of Connecticut purposely not give awards for Sandy Hook emergency response to the primary responding agency?

It literally doesn't matter: people gave sworn statements saying victims died, and the moment they signed, became legally responsible for their decision.
