Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Manuel Noriega Suing Call of Duty For Including Him as a Character [ link to blogs.miaminewtimes.com] Noriega was featured as a character in Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and now he's suing the video game makers from his Panamanian jail cell. According to Courthouse News Service, the suit filed in Los Angeles claims that "In an effort to increase the popularity and revenue generated by BLACK OPS II, defendants used, without authorization or consent, the image and likeness of plaintiff in BLACK OPS II." A digital replica of Noriega appears in an episode of the video game entitled "Suffer with Me." Players are tasked with capturing Noriega, and as per Kotaku he's called a "a piece of shit," "asshole" and "old pineapple face himself" in the game. Noriega's suit claims that he's portrayed as a "as a kidnapper, murderer and enemy of the state." "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." - T. S. Eliot |

Quoting: Boris the Cat I thought that would happen. I mean he has no power anymore. Hardly any media attention. Why would california give in? lol I mean the reason hes giving 'increase in popularity' is just bogus. He should have just went with the fact that they used his persona without permission. i mean they cant just putt anyone they want into a game like that. (i guess, privacy etc) |
