“2001” prompted me to watch “Clockwork Orange” what a mistake. Makes a person feel dead inside.

I can't watch that either, watching that is like being attacked by demons for me. I've only had that feeling about one other film I can remember, it was about people in a house being killed off and then you find out in the end that the whole thing was being broadcast over the internet. Does anyone remember the name of that movie?

Yes, the movie is my little eye

Thanks, I might revisit it to see what I see in it now. I bought it for a bargain price and as soon as I finished watching it I was so horrified that I immediately destroyed the DVD and got it out of my home immediately. I thought it was totally demonic.

illuminati level genius you say?

in other words not too bright in truth

true genius would not be to set oneself up to be cast naked and destitute into the upcoming Age wherein they will be banned from the City of Light that contains the ONLY Light on earth throughout the upcoming Age

not too bright at all, any way you slice it

cutting ones own throat will never be considered "illumined" to my way of thinking

setting themselves up to be marked as "dead" for a full thousand years won't either...

not even close

Re: Ive figured out Eyes Wide shut, Stanley Kubrick was a genius, illuminati level genius
On opening night as the credits began to roll, a woman in front of me said to her husband, "Well. Old Stanley must have died of shame."

On the surface perhaps, a pornographic film of true substance.

At least at first watching that's what hit me squarely. Too bad most of the sex scene was probably cut out.

Funny how people block sex out. For something that must be enjoyable unless you screw it up very badly. It strangely can most be compared to defecating.

From the prostitution to the drugs. The marriage infidelity to the teenage allure. The medical fixation on breasts to the blindfold that slips and only lets you see bits and pieces. The women at once commanding the entire room's solemn attention to next be cast off as a triviality and forgotten without a trace.

Out of all his movies, none seem more pertinent and to the point. Is any of this activity unrealistic or unfamiliar to the current way society behaves? If you dig too deeply into any of these areas can the outcome ever be hopeful or seem rightly?

And after all that drama it leaves us with a happy ending. Bill is ashamed and apologetic. Nicole is more than ready to let it pass and forget. And it leads into the idea that they may be expecting a very special "gift" just in time for the holidays.

So the protagonists have prevailed. No tragedy here. Right?

The answer is up to us perhaps.

And such a far cry from the sexuality of one of my other favorites, Brave New World.

But then again. Given the choice of either, which scenario would most people prefer?

The way that the film is, I don't see it as pornographic. The sex scenes are filmed like a documentary to me. None of it is gratuitous or overly sexualized like pornography is.

If the sex in the film from the orgy was actually documentary footage from a real cult, would call that pornographic?

The rest of the nudity in the film is in the context of a doctor doing his work as you mentioned. Even the scenes in the costume shop have no nudity and are shot in a documentary fashion.

In fact, could it be that this film was supposed to be taken as a type of documentary?

I think the signs of the devolution of Bill and Alice are unquestionable with some of it being obvious like using prostitutes off the street and some of it being subtle such as Alice's dream. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it may hinge on how the word "fuck" is used in the film and the animal symbolism in the toy store.

When Alice describes sex she uses the word "make love" for the past, for what they used to do. Now she's using the word "fuck" talking about all present sex they take part in. Those are loaded terms and obviously completely different but I think measuring their spiritual degradation may be as simple as looking at how the words "make love" and "fuck" are used. I give the original poster of this thread credit for opening my eyes to the degradation of the characters in the film and how central that is to understanding what's going on.

When you say, "the protagonists have prevailed" I don't agree with that. They are on a downward spiral to becoming increasingly devolved beings as the original poster in this thread has explained.

They didn't prevail, how did they prevail? The movie ends with them trying to cope with their new devolved status with the corny banal dialogue which underscores and exposes their devolution as well. I find it to be a very tragic ending.

When Bill was promised that there would be severe consequences for him and his family if he spoke to anyone about the orgy, he didn't hint at what that would be. We're in the world of magic, why do people think this cult has to operate on the physical plane to get revenge? Why do people assume it's the cult getting revenge directly anyway? Why do people even assume that the threat was true? What if was all just a charade or...

What if the orgy was itself symbolic of selling your soul and we're not to take any of the film literally at all?

What if it was an adult re-telling of Alice in Wonderland?

Re: Ive figured out Eyes Wide shut, Stanley Kubrick was a genius, illuminati level genius
I watched this last night and I thought some of you might find this interesting. This is Kubrick's first film, made when he was 25 on a shoe string budget. He was apparently highly embarrassed by this film and tried to have all copies of it destroyed. One survived and its copyright is expired.

The film is dreadfully amateurish in many respects but it deals with many traditional Kubrick themes that fans or analysts of his work will find interesting. There are also some fairly interesting and compelling visual compositions that clearly show his emerging genius with a camera.

The following video leads with a brief interview in which Kubrick discusses this work. Even with its awful acting and many flaws, it is worth watching if for no other reason than this is the seminal work of a great auteur who has produced some of the most memorable cinematic memes in history.

Oh also I have also personally witnessed a reptilian invasion and helped destroy many of their star ships with my vision. This wasn't daydreaming, they were able to take control of humans just as agents do in the matrix. I have seen their zombie like walk! However this could of just been a test, a charade, fake!peace

He's not a genius just cause he could mask the truth and make it look like a metaphor.
Another great movie is Matrix trilogy. Humans will always have masters above them because that's such a big possibility and probability because everything is connected. Humans wil also have wars because fighting is a part of our evolution, until we overgrow it, otherwise grow is not possible.

Re: Ive figured out Eyes Wide shut, Stanley Kubrick was a genius, illuminati level genius
Here's another interesting aspect of this...

What if Bill is actually the villain of the film?

Think about it, Bill is the only person we see doing anything illegal/immoral when he's about to have sex with a prostitute. That would have broken the law and it would have been infidelity.

Besides that, do we ever actually see anything illegal/immoral for sure? I can't think of anything. We see what appears to be possibly immoral at the orgy but if those are all consenting adults who are unmarried or in a situation where their spouses agreed they could do what they're doing, there are no problems.

Besides that, we're told there was drug use, we're told Bill's friend was using a prostitute, we're told that the girl in the costume shop was prostitute and her father was pimping her, we're told that the piano player was under duress when he left the hotel...

But, that's all hearsay and I can't think of a single law that's actually broken in the entire film (with a possible exception below).

Could it be that Bill was the villain, crashing a party he wasn't invited to and being the only one that we actually see doing anything immoral and now that I think about it, is paying a prostitute for sex illegal even if you don't get to the sex? He may have committed a crime, the only crime we see in the whole film.

Bill was probably the villain of the film.

Re: Ive figured out Eyes Wide shut, Stanley Kubrick was a genius, illuminati level genius
If anything would point to Eyes Wide Shut being in fact a pro-Illuminati film rather than an anti-Illuminati film, consider this:

There's nothing wrong with the things that we actually see from the cult as a group. Bill's friend who was apparently from the cult although we don't know that for sure is seen with a naked prostitute who overdosed on drugs in his room. We'll never know what she was really doing there. But, that character is not representative of the entire cult.

What we actually see from the cult is harmless and totally legal as far as I can see. I don't see any reason to believe satanism is involved, it could of have been any religion or no religion involved.

But, from the very beginning of the film everyone except Alice is lying and acting immorally. But, even Alice is corrupted and I believe that may be symbolized by her dream and her use of "fuck" in lieu of "make love."

And now that I think about it, there IS another law broken in the film, Bill and Alice smoke pot!

All of this seems to add up: The cult is actually being portrayed as pure and decent and everybody else is portrayed as corrupt and depraved. That's probably how the Illuminati sees the world.

I think this is a pro-Illuminati film after all.

You have too much faith in Bill perhaps?

But in the end he has to decide that himself doesn't he?

My own life, I am quite well aware of the hidden worlds presented in the movie, while Bill is a bit of a newbie and aloof in his discovery of them. He is lucky indeed.

I suppose I'd compare it to skydiving or fighting forest fires. From a distance, I'm a bit indifferent to these as a lifestyle paths. But they exist. Whether I'm a part or not.

Then again. I rarely get invited to fancy parties.

In either case, Yes!

Judging from the choice of looks & body type Mister Kubrick uses in several of his films, I have to wager he was no stranger to eroticism in film and beyond.

Tell me, what is "that situation"?

I don't think we know because we don't know what Bill told Alice about his experience. We see Bill tell Alice that he'll explain what happened then the explanation is cut out and there is a cut to a shot of tears in Alice's eyes.

How do we know that Bill told the truth at all?

If we assume that he told the truth, how do we know why Alice is crying?

Since Bill didn't actually commit adultery or do anything really wrong outside of party crashing, what is there for Alice to be so upset about anyway?

Please explain why you'd believe any of that would lead to divorce especially considering the dialogue in the last scene?

My own life, I am quite well aware of the hidden worlds presented in the movie, while Bill is a bit of a newbie and aloof in his discovery of them. He is lucky indeed.

My conclusion is that the whole story is symbolic of what we all go through with temptations to sin and be immoral, everyday. Not only from the 'Illuminati' but from the situations and people around us. I think the party and the cult is just a way to explore that issue. I think the party is irrelevant to the real story being told. Again, I thank the original poster of this thread for leading me down this path of thinking.

It's tough to get an answer out of you. Thanks for your input, you pushed me to see some amazing things about this film.

I think Kubrick may have been laughing at the audience with this film. Laughing at the inability of most humans to distinguish between real good and real evil, laughing at the inability of most humans to distinguish between facts and hearsay, and laughing at the inability of most humans to make a fair judgment.

It is kind of funny when you look at it fairly. Bill and Alice were definitely criminals and Bill was a lying scumbag to boot and yet most of the audience will consider them the 'good guys', it's a common trick that Hollywood uses.

In Hollywood, the 'good guys' are often worse than the 'bad guys', it turns everything on its head.

If we assume that he told the truth, how do we know why Alice is crying?

Why was Alice crying after she heard about the party?

I'll be hoping for some good replies then I'll take a shot at it.

Interesting synopsis about Helena in the toy store.

What a load of crap. The whole idea of Helena possibly being abducted is based on three actors in the toy store looking similar to three of the actors at the party at the beginning of the movie.

I would like to ask the writer of that analysis, outside of Bill's friend that gave the party in the beginning of the movie and the prostitute that was in Bill's friend's room at the party, what else would link the party at the beginning of the movie (or more specifically these three extras) to the orgy scene and the supposed sex cult?

The writer of that analysis is assuming that those three people are linked to the orgy and the sex cult, assuming that the three actors are the same people, assuming that he knows that those people were ordered to be there for a purpose by the sex cult, and he's assuming to know why they were ordered to be there.

In other words, this person has nothing, nothing at all.

It's interesting that Kubrick decided to end the movie in a toy store. I've got a theory that makes more sense to me about that:

What if Kubrick was symbolizing the idea that Bill and Alice had devolved down to becoming like toys (see the movie AI) and that the cult was now going to play with them like toys?

The fact that the one supposed guy from the party at the beginning puts the teddy bear on the shelf is important I feel, if you follow the symbolism in my opinion it could represent that the bear represented Bill and he was now like a toy that the cult would have complete control over thus they could put him on a shelf and that would symbolize having total control over him. That may also be symbolic confirmation that Bill lied to Alice about what happened. Bill was being controlled like a toy/robot now, after all he lied to Alice about what happened at the party in the beginning of the movie and he lied to her about other things so we know he's capable of that.

Helena walking away then would most likely symbolize her diverging from her parents still having her soul intact and not being under the cult's control. Helena taking a glance at the teddy bear put on the shelf may represent that she knew on some level what was going on and her walking away may represent that she wanted no part of it. But, Alice by deciding to stay with Bill may have been making her decision to become one of the cult's toys as well. Thus the toy store symbolism all around them again, the toy tigers were right behind her and cats are usually seen as feminine.

That analysis fits what's actually on the screen, not making a bunch of unfounded assumptions and basing your conclusions on your unfounded assumptions.
