LindaE User ID: 45579970 United States 07/28/2014 02:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Garlic has to be my fave, but I'm also partial to cumin, and of course basil. On a hot summer day (OK I'm in the Puget Sound area, so hot is a frame of mind, not a temperature) after a nice rain, or watering of the garden, the place smells fantastic when I've got basil growing. Just need a bit of fresh mozzarella cheese to go with it, and some fresh from the garden tomatoes! |

I just began growing basil myself...I'm amazed at how beautiful the plant actually is... easy to grow, also. I read recently that basil tea is good for pain...gonna try it soon. (I have Fibro)...I also love cumin, put it in beans in the crock pot, and just about everything else. |

There's a great book called, "Left for Dead" about a guy with heart failure...his docs couldn't do anything else for him and sent him home to die. He found cayenne and not only is alive years later, he's thriving! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 20581120 United States 07/28/2014 02:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can't make up my mind...it has to be between garlic and onion...also rosemary... Quoting: krissyinky garlic cured what repeated antibiotics wouldn't in my daughter's sore throat after years of suffering! I love the taste, also. Rosemary gives me energy, love the smell. Tumeric is also great ....just as effective antidepressant as St. John's Wort, although not much is said about that. I mix it with black pepper, as it is said to be more effective that way. What's your favorite herb/spice...for cooking, medicinal, etc...and why Not fair to just pic one, as there are many that I love: Garlic, Lemongrass, Cumin, Cilantro... Yummy!!! Let's have Indian food for dinner.. I love them all for their amazing taste and anti viral or anti fungal properties. |
