Ebola transmission by aerosols confirmed: virus survives for days outside infected hosts

Ebola, you see, can "ride" on aerosolized particles of blood, mucous and other body fluids. Someone sneezing, can cause Ebola viruses to be aerosolized where they land on other people's hands or faces.

Is that really news? From what I've been reading infection was already and always possible by that way. It's also not new that the virus can survive days on any surface as long as it was transported there via body fluids.

That doesn't count as proof as it being a manipulated or engineered version, as this "features" where there all the time before too...

WHO ‏@WHO · Jul 31
Greatest need in #Ebola outbreak response: clin doctors, nurses, epidemiologists, social mobilization experts, logisticians, data managers

Harry brown ‏@HarryBrown66 · Jul 31
@WHO Why isn't travel from and to infected countries being stopped

WHO ‏@WHO · Jul 31
@HarryBrown66 Risk for travelers is very low, person-to-person transmission results from direct contact w/ body fluids of infected patient

Yvette ‏@yostanty · Jul 31
@WHO @HarryBrown66 I would have though a sneeze produced bodily fluids.Person sneezes into hand,touches handle,another touches handle/mouth?

WHO ‏@WHO · Jul 31
@yostanty @HarryBrown66 Current Ebola virus strain (Zaire Ebola virus) in West Africa is not airborne.

Yvette ‏@yostanty · Jul 31
@WHO Sorry but it appears you haven't answered the question. Do sneezes produce bodily fluids yes or no?

Adam Barnes ‏@GetDownAdam · Jul 31
@yostanty @WHO ... but you'd still have to come into direct contact with that fluid or patient.

Yvette ‏@yostanty · Jul 31
@GetDownAdam @WHO sneeze, hand, handle, someone touches handle. If I rubbed my lip with my finger, could I catch #Ebola?

Adam Barnes ‏@GetDownAdam · Jul 31
@yostanty @WHO But I'm not aware of fomite transmission (ie between inanimate objects). Someone with more info would have to help here.

Yvette ‏@yostanty · Jul 31
@GetDownAdam @WHO I have little confidence in these African States so I'm worried..

@CherylLynneRose Fluids being liquid blood, vomit, salive, faeces, globs of mucous, large short-travelling drops from *severely* ill person

Dabney Porte ‏@DabneyPorte · 1h
@MackayIM what exactly is a "traveling drop" that you speak of that can spread #Ebola?

Roxie Mac ‏@roxmacd · 1h
@DabneyPorte @MackayIM you have seen someone sneeze when standing beside them? Felt little wet drops fall on your arm? #droplet nuclei

Dabney Porte ‏@DabneyPorte · 1h
Ray saying that #Ebola can be passed via this #droplet nuclei when infected person sneezes & I breath? Like on a plane? @roxmacd @MackayIM

Roxie Mac ‏@roxmacd · 1h
@DabneyPorte @MackayIM happened between animals. Humans? How did aid workers get it? Outside of hospital from sneeze or cough?

Ian M Mackay, PhD ‏@MackayIM · 47m
@roxmacd @DabneyPorte Aid workers prob got infectd by Being overwhlmd with cases, under-supplid & supportd, tired, hot, rushed, pressurd etc

The MSM keeps reassuring us that Ebola can only spread from close and direct contact of bodily fluids. Well then, no link but think about this. From what I hear and read. Ebola patients have violent and uncontrollable diarrhea. Diarrhea from an Ebola patient can jet out the anus up to 17ft. To keep that in prospective, a $14 drunken binge of Taco Bell only jets out 3-5ft and you have some control over it.

Pic of isolation room released on local news.

[link to i1271.photobucket.com]

Sorry but there is nothing special about that room

[link to www.wsbtv.com]
 Quoting: PENG

INSANE

That room is no different than a regular hospital room but it should be.

The floor is regular cheap VCT with seams - perfect hiding places for viruses. Same with cheap glue-on base molding almost made to trap bacteria and viruses. If this were purpose-built, it would have a seamless floor-to-wall finish.

Even small items like standard electrical outlets and fixtures are incorrect for a facility of its stated use.

Probably has shared ductwork also, suspended ceiling tiles, regular doors and seals, etc.

This is how superbugs get transmitted.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58776263

Thats a stock photo of a hospital room, not THE actual isolation ward or a room in it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60712533

It might be but that was literally on the front page of the local news. I just saved it and loaded onto photobucket.

Screenshot also to their FB page.

Went to the store today. This woman was hiccuping, and she thought it was strange. Ebola suspect.

If you're already sick with something, like bacterial infection, flu/cold virus, or something, does it prevent the big Ebola virus from getting you, or does it make it worse?

There is a technology in development where scientists (has to be scientists) use radio waves to stop bacteria. Could it also be done with viruses? To take a special ray about the same impression of the virus, and use that frequency to blast apart the virus form? They do that with paramecium, to pop their guts out with sound.

Ebola has been known to survive on droplets of snot/sneezing..sine 1976 when it was discovered...?

if you directly sneeze on somebody yes it can infect

that's not the same as airborne...influenza floats in the air without droplets.

ebola isn't air borne

you still need to be in close proximity to somebody who has it..their blood, sweat, if they spit on you, if you drink after them, kiss them.

but if someone with ebola sneezed 30 feet away from me outside...it wouldn't infect
