The Soros thing is probably a rabbit trail. Craig Venter Labs would have more involvement here, and receives funding from Goldman Sachs and DARPA. Asian labs are also cooking the stuff up too , but the shops open and close -- staying on the move under various names. only funding can track them, and not very good.
