Anonymous Coward User ID: 29047130 United States 08/01/2014 05:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is so obvious, I've been saying it from the start. Unfortunately so many tards on here just harp on about it 'not being airborne'. It may not be technically airborne, but in enclosed spaces and crowded urban areas it is effectively airborne to all intents and purposes. Simple, logic. Can't for the life of me understand what people are having problems getting their heads around. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53990064 Exactly. The reason it hasn't been "airborne" is ass backwards Africa is because the places they have had outbreaks at have been in the sticks where people live in mud huts and shit on the ground. If you are outdoors then water droplets from sneezing dissipate quickly. The sun also helps to kill it. If you are in buildings without air conditioning then the water droplets would also tend to dissipate but not as quickly. If you have a/c then you are just recirculating this shit through the building and Ebola can live FOR DAYS without a host. [link to www.msdsonline.com] They don't have malls, restaurants, office buildings and restaurants in the places they have had outbreaks at in the past. If this comes to the US, and it is thanks to the US bringing those two assholes to the states that have Ebola and thanks to the UN or whoever not grounding all air travel from the countries with an active outbreak and the countries that border them, just imagine how it's going to be when Ebola victims start sneezing in malls, restaurants, schools, office buildings, their house with a/c etc. This is going to be BAD. The CDC claims people aren't contagious until they manifest symptoms but I'm not buying that. If you have the virus in your body and you sneeze as a result of inhaling dust will you not expel the virus? Even if you really can't be contagious until you manifest symptoms the problem with that is that when victims start to manifest they WILL expose at least some people until they can get to the hospital and be properly quarantined. All the residue they leave behind from their sneezing will have the live virus in it for days. Same goes for even minute traces of feces or urine or vomit that they leave behind. If they sneeze and touch a doorknob the virus will be on the doorknob for days. Same goes for if they piss or shit and don't wash their hands. Even if they do wash their hands though apparently only bleach kills the virus, antibacterial soap won't do the trick. I doubt they are going to start putting bleach in public restrooms for people to wash their hands with. We are fucked. |

WTF?! :spankySU: This would be analougous - and every bit as phucktarded - as saying the patent for the combustion engine "weaponizes" the automobile. Read the patent. And if you can't understand it, maybe ask a friend or family member that works in the biotech or medicine industry to explain it to you. Of course, to do this, you will first likely have to expand your circle of friends beyond Gloptardia, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. Of course, any altered genome within a viral organism can have consequences that are not exaclty optimal (read: potentially catastrophic), but to suggest this patent is 'proof' of an effort - by the CDC nonetheless - to 'weaponize' the Ebola virus is byeond absurd... it is, ironically, pantently incorrect. Do you really think the dark side of DARPA worries about the timely filing of publicly-accessible patents? Lol... I would be more concerned about Big Pharma and a proto-corporatized push of a new, unproven, weak-sauce 'vaccine' upon a willing populace. |

The hospital would later report that it resisted immense pressure to let out Sawyer from its hospital against the insistence from some higher-ups and conference organizers that he had a key role to play at the ECOWAS convention in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. In fact, FrontPageAfrica has been informed that officials in Monrovia were in negotiations with ECOWAS to have Sawyer flown back to Liberia. |

It must be considered a possible problem because the CDC instructs airline employees to give them surgical masks to curb infected droplets from coughing, sneezing, and talking. If they can't handle wearing a mask they are then instructed to give them tissues to cover their faces with and provide proper disposal for the used tissues. |

Someone sneezing, can cause Ebola viruses to be aerosolized where they land on other people's hands or faces. more [link to www.trail1033.com] And don't forget this crap can live on surfaces far longer than the common cold. As an added bonus male survivors can pass the virus through the "you know what" for TWO months afterwards. Two of the medical workers were wearing perfectly fine HAZMAT suites and still got infected. And in case anyone is still not sure, the CDC says "don't worry, all is good". Like this government has ever been right about anything. [link to www.medicaldaily.com] Human-to-human transmission occurs via direct contact with blood or bodily fluids from an infected person (including embalming of an infected dead person) or by contact with contaminated medical equipment, particularly needles and syringes. Medical workers who do not wear protective clothing, such as gloves and surgical masks, may also contract the disease. In the past, explosive nosocomial transmission has occurred in under-equipped African hospitals due to the reuse of needles and lack of implementation of universal precautions. There is a technology in development where scientists (has to be scientists) use radio waves to stop bacteria. Could it also be done with viruses? To take a special ray about the same impression of the virus, and use that frequency to blast apart the virus form? They do that with paramecium, to pop their guts out with sound. |

As for temperature diminishing the virus, it is well known that viruses have the ability to "protect" themselves from adverse environments--it's called virulence factors.
