This is also very interesting regarding the ZMap drug.
According to first author James Pettitt of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), the research team previously demonstrated that the treatment—known as MB-003—protected 100 percent of non-human primates when given one hour after Ebola exposure. Two-thirds of the animals were protected when treated 48 hours after.
It appears to only work in the first 48 hours. It is truly interesting that Dr. Brantly is not getting better. This is way off from the trials that have been conducted using ZMap. ( [link to www.economicpolicyjournal.com)]
To rush a drug that has not gone through the proper testing is insane. The side affects can be worse than the drug. Since we know that this appears to be about the money. We need to figure out who benefits from this drug being rushed. What happens with not for profit and for profit companies is that they shift money between one company and the other.
