What happens to the remaing scarce honeybees? Are people crazy or scared into allowing this to happen? [link to www.webmd.com] Is this why the cost for a pack of cigs have gone up to 14.00 a pack in California? Why wasn't this pinned? And lastly, more gmo crops, now enhanced with ebola, or God knows what. |

It's a research plant that is much smaller than Nicotiana tabacum, the cigarette/cigar tobacco. This plant doesn't cross-breed with Nicotiana tabacum, but even if it could, the method that is being used to produce the antibodies does not produce a GMO plant that can transmit the antibody genes to the next generation. Finally, there is no nicotine in the final product. |

kwycoff User ID: 64329439 United States 10/20/2014 08:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why Nicotiana benthamiana? Well, it's small so it doesn't take up much space in a greenhouse, it grows fast, and it seems to be good at making antibodies when you give it the right "instructions". There might be other plants that would do as well, but scientists, like other people, like to stick with what works. |
