Pool Shock question??

I keep hearing about pool shock, as an alternative to storing bleach. But it needs to be a certain kind, with no added chemicals. I feel like I have looked everywhere, and no place seems to have the right stuff. Any help on where to find it would be greatly appreciated! Or certain brands that are better than others? Thanks in advance!
