all true, but I wouldn't recommend buying from a friend, if the friend bought it through the paper work avenue. since if the gun is used and found, it will be traced to the friend. Not a very friendly thing to do.
Uh...
No one in this thread has suggested 'using' the gun for anything illegal...

He bought that gun from a friend who bought it from a gun store. After shooting the person who mugged him witha gun, he paniced and dropped the gun. Next day, police show up to his friend's house who actually bought the gun from the store. It was a pain in his ass to prove he sold the gun to a friend. -just sayin
