Burger-flipping robot could ‘completely obviate’ the need for human employees

A robot that can make 360 burgers an hour could put many fast-food workers out of a job – exactly as its designers intended.

Silicon Valley-based Momentum Machines developed the device, which is more like an assembly line than a humanoid robot, reported Singularity Hub.

“Our device isn’t meant to make employees more efficient,” said Momentum co-founder Alexandros Vardakostas. “It’s meant to completely obviate them.”

The company says the burger-flipping robot could take the place of two or three line cooks and save restaurant owners about $90,000 a year in salary and benefits.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I might actually consider eating fast food again if that happens. I quit completely because of the illegal employees and resurgence of TB. This would get me back in the door to whatever chain adopts it first!

The robot might protect you against TB, but you'll still get Type II diabetes if you shovel enough fat food into your craw.

I actually just made a blog post about that today on my word press blog EmpireEconomy since I fully believe that such things can be really good for humanity if we actually let go of the money based system where people are relying on these menial slave like jobs in order to make ends meet. If instead we lived in a resource managed society where everyone would do that which they had a passion to do for the good of all of us then of course none of us would worry about robots taking menial jobs. Instead we would welcome it and work harder to advance society enough to make all sorts of incredible things happen. I'm talking renewable resources, the elimination of poverty and more technological innovation than we can possibly imagine.

If OP would like me to post a link to my blog post please let me know and I will do so. It is relevant to this discussion but will not post links into OP's post.
